Manchester Airport Accommodation

Any recommendations for Manchester Airport hotels and if I can use Tesco Clubcard vouchers for any of them.

There's a Britannia in walking distance to one of the terminals. Just picked up the clubcard brochure today to check. Sadly no hotel groups for Glasgow Airport - expcept Ramada Jarvis which is not for me.

The Radisson Blu, on the actual airport, is magnificently convenient but it's spendy, particularly if you need a family room. I now put £5 a week in a sealed money box to pay to stay here every year though. We did stay at a Premier Inn once which was fine too, but not in the same league of convenience.

Is that the SAS? This is the first time we are flying from Glasgow but love the Radisson in Manchester. Yes, I think I paid £155 for a business class room last year - we didn't even get to eat breakfast there because we had to leave too early, but the rooms are spacious, beds are comfy, nice little restaurant .... It is worth it for that great start to the holiday IMO.

I was actually looking at this hotel tonight, a family suite (with interconnecting rooms) is only £130.

We've been saving £2 coins in a jar since December 2008 and now have £700, this always goes towards paying for the taxi to the airport and hotel accommodation plus the kids spending money.

I love the look of this hotel and the kids having their own room is just going to rock their world!

I have heard that bewleys(I think its called ) is good but dont know proximaty to the airport.Has good rates.Does anyone know when going to orlando if they provide a bus to terminal 2?

we like the radisson sas too as it's connected to the airport by the sky tunnel so it's really convenient, family rooms are two interconnecting rooms with loads of space and two bathrooms so plenty of room for getting ready in the morning and it's a big plus not having to sleep all in one room with excited kiddies

there's a pool in the basement to tire any kids and there's a lovely sauna/ steam room and beauty therpist down there too for a little pre holiday pampering

the brekkie at this hotel is not normally inc with the basic room price but worth adding on when booking as it's cheaper this way, if booked with the room works out approx half the normal price that they quote for walk ups (we pay £35 for 4 people) think it's £17 each for walk ups on the day and the restaurant has a great view over the runway

it really is a lovely start to a holiday and for us it's very much part of the holiday and worth the extra spends

We love the Radisson and stay every year - unfortunately can't use Tesco vouchers tho, but we don't care as it's right in the airport and means a good night's sleep before the flight.

Stayed in Bewleys last year and yes they run a free shuttle bus to all the airport terminals but you need to book your bus on arrival. Would definetely recommend.

jackie. Found it for £59 through a site on quidco. Found the radisson for £93 but his was a standard room no breakfast staying 21st september.Dont know if thats good or not as never stayed there

Another for the Radisson.

We have stayed here a number of times now and love everything that has been mentioned by the PPs. - but by far the biggest factor is it's proximity to the check in desk in T2.

Paula i know you mentioned taxi to the hotel but have you considered the train, this goes direct into the airport and the sky tunnel link so it's really convenient for the hotel

with a family a friends railcard a family of four can travel return for approx £140 using a website like the trainline.com (booking 3 months in advance)

we used the train last trip and found it a suprisngly relaxing start to the trip, you can prebook a table seat and even plug in the laptop so my teen was over the moon

Hey Mazz,

Usually we take the taxi to Edinburgh Airport (£120) but because we're going to Manchester we will be taking our car, it's a Hyundai Trajet and has loads of room for the kids and leaving it in the long stay car park, they have deals on at the moment.

At least if we drive (DH is used to driving all day - he's in the Ambulance Service) we can take our time on the way back and stop when we need to.

I'll check the trainline out closer to the date, it's currently showing £250!

oh right i thought you were getting a taxi, i'm sure i read taxi so sorry about that

you will get much cheaper trainline fares if you add the railcard price (it's well worth the 20 quid investment as it saves loads more) if you tick the railcard box at the bottom left and then add the family and friends card you see a massive price difference on the next page in what you will save and it should take you down to under £140

stayed at the premier inn last week, dropped the car at hertz, bus back to hotel, bus to terminal in morning total cost, 5 quid each. massive room , massive bed, spotlessly clean, 64 quid including buffet breakfast for 2. cant fault it.
