Managing multiple contracts.

I am in the process of purchasing two resale contracts from two different brokers. Both have the same use year.

Assuming both pass ROFR, will DVC combine both contracts under one account and member number like they do when you purchase an add-on directly from Disney, or will I have separate member numbers for each contract? If separate, does this make it difficult to make reservations and/or to manage your points?

If they know they are coming, and that one person is buying both contracts, they can put them together for easier management. They will still be distinct contracts, but you will be able to manage them together. Just let the two brokers know that you are also purchasing another contract with another broker, and that they are to let DVC know that you are going to own both.

I'm not sure at what point they assign the numbers but they can certainly combine them into one contract with sub numbers. Make sure you tell DVC at every opportunity about BOTH contracts and the fact you want them combined. If they are not combined, they will not let you use them together and you'll be treated like two different people.

For what it is worth, we purchased an original contract from DVC, then added on a second contract, same resort, same use year, again through DVC. Both contracts under same member number. We recently added a third contract through resale, again, same resort, same use year. When I called MS to find out if the third contract could be combined with the first two under the same member number, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had already done this!

Yes, Disney will automatically combine contracts of the same use year to the same contract number. I got smart and started purchasing same use year for easier management. I've got a spreadsheet if anyone want's it to keep track of points. PM me if you're interested.

Good advice from Dean - make sure they are combined into one master number and a sub number and you will be hakuna matata on bookings

BCV - 200 points @ $75 w/ no 2004 points and 150 points @$77 w/75 2004 points. Both March use year.

I was looking for 350-400 points and put out feelers with all the resale brokers. After waiting several weeks ended up getting the call from 2 different brokers a day apart. I'll end up paying a little extra in closing costs, but other than that everything worked out great.
