I remember reading that you can book your seats on your flight but how far in advance

Hi

You can do this online if you have the virgin reference number, which will be on your virgin confirmation.

virgin Hols , it says to enter their booking NO
ukdeb , but still nothing

Not sure then, sorry. We always book directly with Virgin Atlantic. Have you only just booked? It might be worth waiting a day or two. :confused3

i booked 23rd July, just found on site seats can be booked 336 days prior to flight , so i am in that time as our flight is 14th July
maybe email them see what they say
thanks for the help

You can book your seats exactly 11 months before your return journey. However you will need the e-ticket number or the 'locator' number which is not the same as your virgin holidays booking ref. The locator number will be a 6-digit number made up of a mix of numbers and letters. If you booked direct with Virgin they will give you the number if you telephone them. If you booked with a travel agent you need to ask them. Once you have this you can log onto Virgin Atlantic 'Manage your flights' section and book your seats.

Ifyou call VA they will be able to book the seats for us I am flying with Virgin next year and I am unable to book seats as apparently we are part of a group booking (independant travel agent books a block of seats at a great price!) so we are unable to choose our seats we are allocated them, which by the looks of it we have three seats on last row, back onto the galley! and a couple of others across the way. So that is what I get from getting a reasonably cheap deal. :confused3

i had same problem they found my son on his own on the booking a 6+1 but not us i just pestered them till they found us (ooh there you are) i too booked and got a cheap deal so perhaps thats why,i got us all together though it was booked in may and was able to book seats in august so i would say get the ref number and keep ringing,i think they were glad to get rid of me :badpc: :teeth:

I am a bit confused, I have booked with VH, I was planing on booking my seats as soon as it was 336 days as I really want the bubble. Maybe I will get the TA to book them for me.

If you have booked a VH even though it is via a TA then you should still be able to call VA to book your seats, this should not come under the same category as the 'group' booking. I booked via funway who I assume buy a bulk of seats and sell them on hence VA allocate them a block of seats to use and these are not negotiable until the day of travel. With VH you are treated as individual bookings not as 'groups'. Sorry if I have confused you further but all will become clear if you call VA to discuss your requirements.

I booked direct with VH and had no problems booking our seats once I realised it is 336 days from the return flight date not the outbound date.

We had the same trouble it seems that their system will not allow you to book until 336 days before the day of your return home if that makes sense, ours was return date of July 6th 2007 and we were able to ook out seats on August 9th this year!!Hope this helps :grouphug:

midnight belle have you been told you have to pay for requesting seats, as virgin dont charge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jules

midnight belle just because the agent has blocked booked doesn't mean you are part of a group. You have booked the tickets in your own name, for your party, and you should therefore have the same booking options as any other person who has a booking. Just because the tickets were cheaper than the standard rate means nothing reagrding your booking of seats alot of companies offer cheaper tickets even VA do as part of promotions etc. I really do not understand what your TA is telling you!
