Managing banked points online: new member questions?

How does the DVC member website differentiate between banked points and regular points? After banking points, can you designate which points to use for booking a reservation? For example, if the reservation requires 75 points in the 2018 use year and you bank 50 from the 2017 use year, can you designate that the 50 banked points be used first?

Also, if you own two contracts both with the same use year under one membership, can you specify from which home resort to use the points when booking at the 7-month window? All the points are combined on my dashboard. For example, I want to use points from Saratoga Springs at the 7-month booking window and not from my other home resort.

You don't specify. Banked points are automatically used first. If you select to draw points from two different contracts, the banked points from each will be used first.

When you book online, the system is programmed to use banked points before current UY points. As you are making the reservation, look for the button/link that will show you which points will be used. It's a handy animation that illustrates exactly which points will be used in what order to make the reservation. MS should (and usually does) use banked points first but I always make a point of mentioning "I have 50 banked points I want to use" just to be sure they don't overlook them.

Yes. With online booking, you can specify which contract(s) to use and in which order. If booking on the phone with MS, just give them the same info ("Use my SSR contract" or "Take all the banked and current SSR points and then the rest from my XYZ contract.")
