What are the offerings at the happy hour at the Embassy Suites LBV?

Sorry for all the questions, but we just booked this hotel spur of the moment this morning and we leave tomorrow! Usually I plan these things for months ahead!

lucas,

If you get back before next Weds. morning, please post how you liked this hotel. We should get there early Weds. afternoon.

Thanks!

I also haven't been yet..but should be there at this time tomorrow night..for just one night. Probably will miss the manager's reception due to a dinner reservation. But I did read on Tripadvisor.com that someone said drinks (including alcoholic), popcorn, munchie type stuff. Said the drinks were not watered down ;-)

Have a good trip. I'll try and post my impressions of it once I visit.

Magical-Memories,
We will be there tomorrow night, too! We will be traveling with our Yorkie. :dog:

sbclifton,
We'll be back before you leave and will post a review of the hotel.

You guys all have a good trip, too! :wave2:

They have beers on tap, I believe tere were 3 different types, two regular and one light.
they have a manager's special drink every night. When I was there it was stuff like cranberry and orange juice with rum, cranberry juice with vodka, long island ice tea, etc... They also make whatever mixed drink you want, but nothing frozen. My sister was drinking rum and coke and I was drinking white russians.
they also serve the kids juice and virgin drinks.
there is a big popcorn cart and pretzels.
I stopped at Walmart and bought chips and dips and cheese and sliced pepperoni type tuff and we had a little party every night.
Between the bfst and the manager's special we definately got our monies worth. Peggie

My dh and I just got back from the Embassy Suites LBV. We booked it the day before we went there and were traveling with our dog, short notice. Normally we stay on-site but since this was short notice, we did not have a petsitter and had to take our dog with us to a pet friendly hotel. A few months ago we did the same thing with our dog but stayed at the Comfort Inn just a few buildings away. We liked the Embassy Suites much better. It had a bedroom/tv, small kitchen/bar, with fridge, microwave, table, and had a separate living room with a sofa/bed and its own tv. The breakfast was pretty good, not the greatest, but very sufficient - bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, french toast or pancakes, chocolate and white milk, coffee, juices, soft drinks, bagels, toast, english muffins, cereals, fruit, and donuts all from the buffet - which is what we did. You could also get made to order eggs, and pancakes. There was lots of seating. The managers reception had beer, wine, mixed drinks, sodas, pretzels and/or popcorn - no other food offerings. The Embassy Suites also has a Pizza Hut Express and Starbucks in the lobby, which we did not use but could come in handy. (The Comfort Inn did not have any of the above.) The Embassy Suites is also a member of the Hilton Honors group, and they sent 2 bottles of water with a nice note to our room. This hotel is right off of I-4, and you could not be any closer in your room to the interstate! When we first checked in I did not think the noise from the highway was noticeable but at night when trying to get to sleep - oh boy! It was extremely noisy with horns, all kinds of motor sounds, sirens, etc. I always travel with earplugs and a white noise machine and it is a good thing because I would have not gotten any sleep without them. I think there are some rooms that don't back directly to I-4, so you may want to request one of those rooms. Also, the hotel is in a great location close to Disney but traffic in the area is VERY VERY heavy. The hotel and room were clean and everyone seemed nice enough. We did not have any problems so really did not have many interactions with the staff. We like staying on-site at WDW better and being part of the Disney magic 24/7, plus I think the deals are better at the value resorts. But have no complaints and would definitely stay here again with our pet. Hope this is helpful to you.

lucas,

Thanks for posting. I've got 5 rooms reserved and will call tomorrow to ask that we be put as far away from I-4 as possible. We'll be there for a conference (with no time for Disney, I'm afraid), and I definitely don't want to be awake all night for 4 nights.

I'm glad you had a good trip!

We stayed there on Friday night too. First impression was very good. Nice hotel, lobby nice. Tried to check in early told to come back in 45 minutes. Came back 2 hours later..still no rooms. Came back at 4:05 still no room (and now it's after the 4:00 check in time). They tell me should be five minutes and they are waiting for the call. So I wait in lobby. And 15 minutes later nothing. I was starting to get annoyed as now I am paying for this and we have dinner reservations at 5:30 and need to get ready after a long day of travel. Went back up...I asked if they could call and see what hte hold up is.

I think a manager came out and suddenly room was ready. Yay! Room was decent. Clean. We paid for a room by the pool, which was away from the highway on the 4th floor. Could not hear anything from the outside.

My kids enjoyed the pool. They especially liked swimming from inside to outside. Mom wasn't too pleased though since I could not see them when they went inside. But they had fun in it. It isn't as big as the website shows but I thought it was sufficient.

Next morning we had the breakfast. Lots of choices. They have a cooked-to-order line which was nice.

Oh..one thing that was odd. We were pulling into their 'gated' parking lot. And there was a black car with tinted windows sitting beside the gate. As soon as we used our key to get through..the car followed immediately behind us. Than just proceeded to park and sit in car. We alerted who we thought was security but they didn't seem to do anything. Made me a little nervous.

Husband checked again about 30 minutes later and car was gone. Maybe they were just picking someone up or something. Just a little odd.

Didn't get to go to the Manager's reception as we had dinner reservations.

I would rate it probably a 7 our of 10.

Thanks for posting. Our flight gets in at 2:30, and we'll have to pick up our rental van, so we shouldn't be there before 3:30 or 4:00. I will remember to ask for a manager quickly if we have a problem getting checked in. Since there will be 7 of us in 5 different suites, I'd like for things to go smoothly. I've already called and requested away from I-4.

Thanks again!

We were lucky - we arrived at approximately 2:30 and our room was ready. Only 1 person ahead of us in line to check-in. I did appreciate the 12:00 out check-out time. We were there for 2 nights, Friday and Saturday.

Can't wait for our December Wonder cruise. After the cruise we are staying at the Contemporary for 2 nights. :cool1:

I am a Hilton Honors member, and I had them put my number on the reservation. Did they do the expedited check-in?

Don't know if our being a Hilton Honors member came into play during our check-in. :confused3 (Except that our Hilton Honors # was on the reservation they emailed us.) They only have a few pet rooms so maybe the pet room just happened to be available. I don't think anyone was in that room overnight because the Friday USA Today was still hanging on the outside of the door when we got there. The front desk did give our doggie a welcome package - a cup and bag of milkbones! :teeth: Forgot to mention that the lobby had some Downtown Disney coupon books that had some nice coupons: 20% off at Wolfgang Puck Express, 10% off at Earl of Sandwich, 15% off at Ghirardelli, and a few other ones, too.

We are planning to visit Downtown Disney, so I'll look for those coupon books.

I'm glad they sent something to your :dog: ! We sometimes travel with ours, and they always really enjoy it. One of ours is very nervous of strangers when we're at home, but very friendly when she's at a hotel. I guess everybody enjoys a vacation! :)
