Just had two more 3.5 and up earthquakes within a minute centered in my town.... getting ready for "the big one"!!

stay safe......and all I have to contend with is northeasters.......hugs to you

Yeah, be careful. That would be so freaky.

We're fine... one was a 3.5 and 2 after were only 2.8's you can't even feel those ones. the 3.5's and up you can... thats alot of earthquakes in 2 days... ones that you can feel... within 72 hours we are supposed to have a big one... And I don't want to be in the old office building when we do have it!

Lil Mermaid... hope you are ok.... Some welcome to CA huh?

Here in the NE, we aren't used to earthquakes of any magnitude. It has to be scary. Stay safe. :D

Yes, we are okay. I did not feel the ones this morning, but we did feel the two yesterday. The second one scared me because it went on much longer!

Do they say we are in store for a bigger one? Yikes!

Yeah - some welcome, huh? Sunday's morning quake woke us up & last evening's was a pretty good tembler. 3.8 & 3.9 are noticeable but don't do much apparant damage. (Of course, we don't know what kind of damage it's doing to the foundations of buildings, sewers, etc!) I wonder what the USGS is thinking about having 3 - 3.8 & up quakes within 27 hours.

I've slept through 5+'s before, so I didn't feel anything yesterday. I did feel one today. I'm in the 2nd floor corner of a two story building and it shook pretty good.

For what its worth, the USGS isn't quite sure what to make of it. The quakes are coming on a section of the Calavares Fault that has been "sleeping" for about 40 years. It could be a signal for future activity, but if it is, they don't know when, where, or how big.

The only thing we can do is be prepared (as always), and go about our business.

:)

Yeah the 72 hour thing I heard from my mom who heard it from the news.... but I wouldnt be suprised...

<font color=navy>Here's hoping that those tremors relieve the pressure underground and that there is no big quake anywhere in CA.

That is scary to me!! Glad that you are ok!

I don't know about you guys but I would take the quakes anyday over tornado's and hurricanes. We lived in the desert during the Lander's quake (7.6, I think) we had lots of big aftershocks.. 5 and 6's.. We would sit at our mtg's just swaying away...

I will say that physical damage was limited due to the small population in the desert.

I am in total agreement with MamaJoan.... I would much rather shake for a few seconds then wonder if my roof is going to get torn off.... Isn't it funny how we are afraid of what we dont know?

I was 11 when we had the Loma Prieta quake and it was weird but it was over quickly enough... although that one did cause alot of damage... I think this area is new enough to sustain another quake of that magnitude. Not much around here was built 20-30 years ago...
