I book my trip and drag my mom along since I get charged the same for the cabin. We do some things together and others separate. I know she isn't into playing games so I go by myself. I have always had fun and most times find other groups to join in with.

I would go on my own if I couldn't find someone to go with me. I hate paying for 2 people when it's only one person, but would if I wanted to go. That's why I took my nieces (separately) to WDW for free dining. I was paying for the room anyway, just cost a bit more for tickets and flights.

Your wording didn't exactly sound like you were curious. More like you were assuming I was thinking a certain way.

As I'm sure you are aware, it's very easy to mis-read someone's "tone" on the internet. I don't read it that gumbypee was assuming anything, just that she was trying to figure out why you worded it the way you did.

One of my frustrations when I see assumptions that a single male stranger is to be feared more than a couple, another woman, or even an adult the child knows, is that in teaching our children this, we leave them unprepared for the situations they should fear most. There have been many abductions committed by couples. As I mention above, most molestations are committed by someone the child knows. As a society, we need to get away from emphasizing "stranger danger" and teach our children how to protect themselves if anyone is making them feel uncomfortable, even if it is a teacher, a coach, a relative, mom and dad's close friend, etc. Single men shouldn't be treated like the boogey man. The majority are upstanding guys that would step in to protect a child in a heartbeat if they saw the child was in danger.

If he's having a good time... who cares? The only reason it would be a problem is if he started acting like a creeper... but that applies to everyone, not just single travelers.
