I am not sure it has anymore to do with Disneyland, then women wearing pony tails. It just so happens that someone was bored and decided to start posting them and others jumped on the bandwagon.

Agreed it is hipster fashion. I was in Wellington last weekend, hipster capitol of NZ (as well as the capitol of our country), plenty of man buns, beards and super skinny jeans. Not a look I could pull off but snaps to them for doing it.

Some of the non-hipster, big strong guys at the YMCA where I spend my life (son takes dance) have been wearing buns all summer. I like it on them. One just cut his off and I'm sad.

It creeps me out that people are snapping pics of strangers and putting them on the Internet. At least it's not as creepy as "hot dads of disneyland." Imagine being out with your kids and then seeing a pic of yourselves on Instagram taken by a stranger. Eww
