Mama Melrose's or Hollywood & Vine

We already have 3 character meals planned. We have been to Sci-Fi and PT Cafe many times. I thought we would try and branch out on this trip and try something new. Given the two above which would you go to and why?

Info. we have a 5 and 8 yr. old - very healthy eaters who will eat just about anything you put in front of them. This would be for lunch.

I would go to Mama Melrose, the food is a lot better.

Quite honestly, I would pick any restaurant in the World over H&V (only restaurant on property that I will never go back to!) Even if that weren't the case, I'd pick MM, the food is really good

H&V was one of the worst meals of our trip. I am not super picky either but I would not recommend it to you unless you had big fans of Playhouse Disney. Mama Melrose was delicious. I am planning a repeat dinner there for my next trip.

Never went to H&V. We went to Mama's in August for the Fantasmic Package. We liked it very much! Thought it was very good!

We actually like H&V. It is pretty typical buffet food but decent. Mamma Melrose is also decent - nothing we'd go out of our way for, but OK. Maybe a step down from an Olive Garden. Very overpriced for what you get, but lots of Disney table service is that way. Flatbreads are the best thing we think. Service has usually been fair at best. Very slow.

H & V is ick! Lousy service, bland food and overall pretty dirty. We aren't going back there anytime soon. Mama Melrose is pretty good. I do wish they would get some improved dining options in HS. I can't say any one sit down restaurant there is outstanding.

I agree with this whole-heartedly. I really couldn't believe just how BAD H&V was! Every single meal we had at Disney World was really good except this one! I definitely would pick Mama Melrose.

Our dinner at Hollywood Brown Derby in Oct. was outstanding. It was by far the best meal of the trip. That info doesn't exactly help the OP though, sorry.

Brown Derby is the one restaurant that is a must do every trip As you said, doesn't help the OP but for anyone considering it you really should give it a try (btw, if on the DDP pay OOP! The prices are not high enough to justify 2 credits)

It boggles my mind how H&V even stay OPEN. I can't think of a single rousing endorsement I have EVER seen - and usual reviews are terrible.

My husband and myself would love to eat at Mama Melrose usiing DDP , but I know my kids will not like it . Is it possible for me to make reservations for four but use only 2 TC . Would we still recieve 4 tickets for fantasmic ?
