At first, I had made an ADR for MM Fantasmic package for out recent trip in June. Then, when they added a 2nd showing of Fantasmic I called and changed it to a regular ADR instead of package, as I had heard second showing is less crowded and it worked better into our day. I was under the assumption that an appetizer came with the dining plan, but waitress said it did not. Was this just if we would of stuck with the package? If so, I could of left first ADR. Our 2nd ADR was basically the same time as the first one. I felt bad because I had told the others in our party (5 people total) that I was fairly sure that apps were included. In addition, I checked my credit card billing and they charged me as a "no show" even though we still dined there. I did call and they are hopefully going to credit my account.

We had the F dining package at MM in May, however we had the DxDDP which allowed us to get an app, entree, and desert with it. I did thought that with the F package you were also allowed an app, but then again I could be wrong and just thinking of our own plan. Hopefully someone with the experience of the reg DDP and the dining package will come along and clarify this. But I do want to point out that we have seen Fantasmic twice....once with the the dining package and once without. Let me just say that we will never see Fantasmic again unless we have the dining package. It is so worth it to not have to wait in line for 2 hours just so you can get a good seat (and this was for the second show), instead we walked right into the theater with 15 minutes to go and we still got a great view of everything. I highly recommend it

I can understand your confusion if you have never used the F. package before. On the regular DDP, your meal only includes entree, dessert and non-alcohol beverage. However, with the fixed price F. package you also get an appetizer included.

When you made your second reservation for the regular meal at MM, did you also specifically cancel your F. package? If not perhaps that was why you were charged as a no show.

This. Your ADRs aren't linked as far as the restaurant is concerned so you would have needed to cancel your F! package and re-book a regular ADR for the lunch. If you canceled the F! package, you should have gotten a confirmation/cancelation number.

As stated, the regular DP does not include the app (DxDP does) but the F! package does included an app regardless of the level of DP you have or if you are paying OOP. F! package also uses 2 TS credits per person, which is probably why it includes an app as an "extra".

That would of put a kink in our dining plans, as I had everything planned right down to the last credit. I thought I was clear to the cast member when I called to switch the package to regular ADR, but do not remember if I got a cancellation number, as there were some others I cancelled, as well. I'm learning more about Disney everyday! Another question......can the package be used on the 2nd showing? I thought it could only be on the 1st showing!?!

The F! package actually doesn't count as two credits. I booked it in December of last year and it only took one. But you can't use it for the second showing. You do however, get reserved seating because you booked the package. That way you don't have to stand in the line for 90+minutes. And FWIW, we used the regular DDP and still got an app with our meal. Maybe our server just liked us, idk

This is what I should have done. I guess I know for next time. Just a little mad at myself for not being more knowledgeable....gave up our chance at free apps AND had to be on the phone for 30 minutes, trying to get them to credit my card that should not have been charged!

Fantasmic Dining Package is 1 credit if you eat at Hollywood & Vine or Mama Melrose.

It is 2 credits if you choose Hollywood Brown Derby.

You could eat with the Fantasmic Package and still just go to the second show if you choose to .

The Dining Package includes entrance to only the first show. There's a separate entrance and you won't have to get into line as much as 90 minutes before the show like people without the package.

You could eat with the Fantasmic Dining Package and go to the second show, but then you've lost the value of the shorter wait time. There won't be a separate entrance and depending on the time of the year, the line might be just as time consuming as the first show. If you're using DDP credits the only advantage would be you would get an appetizer.

Anytime you make a reservation where you have to give a credit card number, it means it is a prepaid meal (CRT, Hoop de Doo, luau or Mickey's Barbecue) or there is a cancellation deadline/no show fee (Fantasmic, Akershus, Cali Grill) so be sure and get a cancellation number if you change your mind.

There are so many details and nuances to keep track of. Hopefully things will go smoothly next time.
