Mama Melrose?

We have always liked Mama Melrose's. We choose it over Brown Derby and Hollywood and Vine for the Fantasmic Dinner Package and are going again next week. Last year my 8 year old DD was selected as guest chef of the day as one of the million dreams. She got a hat, a certificate and a free dessert which was funny because we were on the dining plan and she got one anyway.

A lot of posters have trashed it lately, especially since they now longer give free bread which I will admit is pretty cheesy for an Italian restaurant. I can't remember what we have eaten but we have always been happy.

very good, but also agree about the bread - even the waitress hinted to the fact that there was no bread - seemed to be embarrassing for her too...
i think it it ridiculous they don't serve bread, especially for an Italian restaurant. Heck, at LeCellier you can get all the wonderful bread sticks you want...what is the point for Mamma Melrose?:confused3

I agree very good, great Sangria.

My DD and I love MM and go there each trip! I love the caesar salad and the pepperoni flat bread!!!

the sangria WAS very different and VERY good.:woohoo: :woohoo:
I love the chicken pesto flatbread.:cool1:

I read mixed reviews about Mama Melrose but decided to try it during our last trip and it was one of our favorite places we ate at. My DD loved the flatbread and the caesar salad. For our next trip it's one of the places we want to go back to.

I was just coming to the forum to post this same question about Mama Melrose's we were thinking of trying it during our trip in Sept. and the pictures I have seen look very good but I have heard a few bad reviews.
I think I may give it a try. Maybe they will reconsider the bread thing:confused3

Awww ... I was talking myself out of the sangria and now you all have convinced me to try it. It will be Valentine's day after all!

We ate here in 2006 and loved it enough to go back again. I have seen it get mixed reviews but I enjoyed it alot. One of the restaurants that DH mentions again and again sooo ... couldn't resist making an ADR there again for 2008 and can't wait until Feb 14! :thumbsup2

We love Mama Melrose, we make it a point to go there once per trip and haven't ever been disappointed.

We went here for our FDP in Oct 2006. It was quite good. We all had the 4 cheese flatbread and the Chicken Parmigan. I think that I was not too impressed with my dessert, but my own fault, I should have had gelato.
