Is this a kid friendly restaurant? thanks...amy

I consider it kid friendly. It's definitely a sit down restaurant but they serve kids portions. They also have marshmallow milkshakes and well as cookies and milk for dessert (highly recommended!).

Their tiramasu (sp?) is excellent.

Imagine going to your favorite relatives house for a family get together and you can get an idea of Mama Della's. It's very, very, family and Mama herself is overseeing the tables to make sure your full and that it was plenty to eat for your family before you go on your way. I saw lots of kids there when we were dining it was great the way the resturant was set up and all. The was a person outside doing character pic's of kids while they waited to be seated and it was just homey feeling you'll love it and the kids will not be out of place here.

YES!!! :D
Just ate there on Friday night. We had six kids in our party. Our kids love it there. Mama came out & yelled at all the kids for drinking marshmellow shakes before dinner. It was pretty funny.

I had not planned on eating here, but after hearing about the marshmellow shakes, I think I have changed my mind lol...Let me ask this, it sounds like similiar antics as the 50's Prime Time Cafe...is that correct?

Thanks

Not really. She might or might not come to your table. If she does, it's quick. They also have great Italian singers that come & sing to you.

My husband and I were there just two weeks ago. Mama is very convincing and I come from a long line of Italian "Nonnies". She was just like my grandmother and great grandmother before her! She was telling us about the how "her" chef in the kitchen made a wonderful orange tart. Although I was full I was almost tempted to try it because she was pretty convincing. The strolling musicians and atmosphere made it great for the two of us but we will be going back (at the end of this month) with our three, well behaved kids. It's not a quick "fooling around" kind of a place but it is deinitely worthwhile for a nice Italian dinner. We enjoyed it more than the Palm where we ate the next night!

OK, now you all have me tempted.
We're staying at PBH first weekend in February. Can you tell me about how much a meal for four adults would be? (My daughter and son are 13 and 11, but always eat full adult meals). Is it as pricey as Portobello Yacht Club at Downtown Disney? Or Emeril's?

Dave,
The meals come with a family style salad. The portions are large.
They run about $14.95- $20.95. You can order wine by the carafe which is pretty good. The rest of the wine list is about $30.00 and up. Drinks are about $5.50 and up. The menu is listed along with the rest at the top of the forum under Universal menus. They are also pretty good about special orders.

Sounds very reasonable. Last time my wife and I went to Portobello Yacht Club at WDW, it was $150 for just the two of us.
Thanks for the info.

Dave we ordered salads separatly and shared a HUGE portion of an entree and it was around 35-40 bucks well spent. We have NEVER split a meal like that before and are big eaters but when we saw the entrees coming out and how big they were be decided we'd better! They give you plenty of bread too. I could'nt pass up the ceasar salad it was the best i'd ever had. This resturant in pricing only - I would say is like Applebee's or a Carraba's Itlalian place in pricing. I agree with CPM the entrees range is 13-15 on the average there are a couple of 10-11 buck ones up to the steaks around 19-20. Chicken dishes are 13-15 i'd say. It's wonderful and the feeling your an invited guest in your favorite relatives home is just warm and inviting. Mama did come to our table and the service was outstanding!
