This summer on our vacation we are planning a side trip to Mall of America. Anyone been and can tell us things that we just have to do and things we can miss. Also what really neat specialty shops do we just have to see? Is there a Disney Store there? Thanks for the help in advance.

I was there last summer, we only spent 6 hours (it was a bus group) but managed to walk every floor and go into several stores. I loved the Franklin Mint store!! There are some souvenir kiosks, and I love using my "Mall of America" coffee mug, reminds me of our trip out there. We just looked down upon Camp Snoopy when we were on the top floor, but it looked like a fun place to spend an afternoon, or day. And we didn't do the aquarium downstairs either and I'm sure that would have been fun. Hopefully you'll get responses from people who have done those things. It's a great mall though, and they do have a web site so if you go there you'll be able to see all the stores they have. I think it's www.mallofamerica.com. I'm hoping to get back there in another year or two, and stay across the street at one of the hotels so we can spend as much time as we want at the mall and "do it all!"

Where will you staying in Minneapolis? The hotels/motels are quite pricy around the MOA. If you need help with choosing, let me know.

The Rainforest restaurant is nice and there is a new Krispy Kreme store.

Old Navy, NOrdstroms, Bloomingdales are really popular.

Best bet is to chec out the Mall website. And one tip write down where you park your car! Get there just before opening to get a good parking space and crowds will be less, too.

herc.

We love the Mall of America as a weekend getaway. Make time to at least walk through Camp Snoopy and take in a few rides (the Ferris Wheel is great and the roller coaster isn't a very scary one). In Camp Snoopy you can find a plaque that shows where home base of the old Twins Stadium was.

Underwater World is not to be missed! A really nice walk through exhibit, a moving sidewalk through two different tunnels with sharks, rays, etc. gliding right about you. Last time we were there (last year) they even had a small pool with baby rays in it that you could pet.

It is fun to walk past some of the unique stores . We usually drive up on a Friday night, spend all day Saturday at the Mall, and then drive home Sunday.

Tired of walking? Take a break at the food court, eat at one of the many themed resturants, or take in a movie!

Check out the Mall's website - lots of fun things.

Oh, and if you love Beaver Tails at WDW - there is a Beaver Tail counter at the mall as well!

First of all there is a place at MOA - I can't remember the name right off but it's on the third floor on the West side - where you can drive a racecar simulator. It's a total hoot - don't miss it. After that, Planet Hollywood is always fun. We always buy hot sauce at the Mall of America. There is a store at MOA that sells nothing but hot sauce. I think the new Krispy Kreme is open now. Camp Snoopy is fun - especially for the kids. There is a store of nothing but cat stuff for the cat lovers. Just browsing the kiosks on the first floor is fun.

Have a good trip.

We stayed at a Doubletree which had a shuttle that would take you to the MOA. We stayed 3 nights and really had a great time. Ate at Planet Hollywood and Hooters (DH wanted to eat there). DD loved Camp Snoopy. MOA is a shoppers paradise.

We stayed at Embassy Suites - free breakfast buffet and an hourly shuttle to the mall - wonderful! At least once a day I ate at Planet Hollywood and ordered the chicken crunch!
