Anyone know if there are any coupons or discounts out now for Mall of America? Especially the nick universe and the aquarium?
We will be going this weekend for my DD's b-day(already registered for the free pass) but still need to buy 5 more passes.
Any other stuff to do thats fun for kids in the area? We did the zoo last summer but it's a little too cold for that now:thumbsup2.
Thanks,

I believe I've seen that Subway has a $5 off coupon to Nick Universe. You might check that!

When I went a few years ago I googled it and found discounts.

Costco sells wrist bands for Nick Universe at about $10 off the regular price. There is a costco in near by Eden Prairie. You have to be a member, though.

For the aquarium there are package deals if you have so many people you can buy a family pass. Sharkie the mascot also walks around handing out 2 off coupons, you can also sign up for email from underwater world on their website to recieve 2 off coupon. The sunday paper around here also has buy one get one coupons twice a year that are good for 6 months, I don't have any right now maybe someone one here does? The aquarium is neat, but a bit overpriced as it only takes about 45 minutes to see everything. I think you will get more value from the wristbands.

Other fun things for kids at the mall would be the lego store, they have a area outside to build your own things and look at the huge lego statues. The mall is probably your best bet, we head there everytime we get a little stir crazy from winter, they also have a disney store on level 2 near macy's and a wolfgang puck express on level one by nordstroms, and a rainforest cafe on level one, if you want to make it feel a little disneyish.

This is great to know! :cool1: I'm going there in 2 weeks to see my daughter's dance team.

Thanks for the help!
My DD's b-day is sun and the Nick universe is offering a free unlimited ride wristband on b-days so I signed up for that.
I think we figured out that it would be cheaper to just buy the membership to the aquarium than to buy tickets for all six of us plus we generally go twice a year.
I just got a great price on rooms through priceline so now we are set.

Are there any other fun things to do in the area? I know my boys would like to ride the metro but to where?
Thanks again,

Don't forget the American Girl store and bistro! They have a 3 foot long banana split (sounds bigger than it is, the "bowl" is only as wide as a scoop of ice cream, so very narrow). It is about $20-25 and easily split. We split it between 5 adults and 3 kids easily. You don't need reservations for the bistro. (Warning: you can see AG from the rides, so it is hard to skip.)

Also, MN has NO SALES TAX on clothing or shoes!!!! I SOOOOOO miss this living in AR with a 9% tax on clothing. I really had to restrain myself at Christmas. (We have family in the area and visit at least twice a year.)

Macy's often has coupons in the paper for an additional percentage off purchases.

Have a great time! I love the MOA!!!

We rode the Light rail at Christmas to downtown MNPLS. The Macy's downtown had a great display (Santa's workshop) on the 7th floor. Unfortunately, that is closed now, but downtown is fun. The light rail took us past the Metrodome, etc. It also goes to the MOA. The tickets are good for a few hours (check the signs) so you won't have to pay again for a return trip if you travel within the time.

Maybe read the Star Tribune (newspaper) online and see what is going on this weekend. Is it time for the Winter Carnival in St. Paul yet? (Can't remember when that is exactly.) Also, don't forget the Superbowl. MN is sad that the Vikings aren't in it--especially because they got robbed of the title in their playoff game due to reffing issues.)

Have fun!
