Maliboomer removal?

I read in another thread that Maliboomer is going away next year? Why? What will go in it's place? (not that it takes up a ton of room).

At one time a Parachute drop was planned to go there. Similar to what Knott's had.

Now it looks like it will become a sort of park for meet and greets.

According to MC's DCA Project Tracker, the Maliboomer is expected to be permanently closed on Sept. 7, 2010.

Maliboomer removal

Details: The Maliboomer will be dismantled and removed and the space formerly occupied by the attraction will be converted in a Victorian-style park area with shade trees and seating.

Project Status:To begin September 7, 2010.

Project Completion: Late 2010.
