Just wondering..Since the Maleficent movie is schedule to be released this summer do you think they will do a meet and great with Maleficent in the parks? I'm sure she won't be very popular with the little ones but I would love to have my pic taken with her when were there in June and July.

I hope there's some cool merchandise too. I also hope Disney isn't short-sighted about this and plans. Unless the movie is a complete dud, I think they need to expect ppl will want to see some love for Maleficent in the parks.

As a little kid, I always loved the villains. I remember being terrified of Peter Pan, but I ran into The Sheriff of Nottingham's arms.

Disney doesn't normally do meet and greets with face movie characters, like Giselle. I dont think Maleficent will be any different.

I have an old pic with her from meet and greet at Villains show at MNNSHP some years ago. I'll see if I can dig it up and post when I get home. I am sure if they decided to have a M&G it would be extremely busy, but I doubt they would based on the lack of villain focus. If the Friday the 13th event at HS didn't convince them how popular the concept was, I'm not sure anything will.

But Maleficent was originally an animated character and she has appeared in parades and is meetable at MNSSHP. (Well, it's not a normal meet and greet - it's called the Villain Mix & Mingle - they do a performance on the castle stage and then come down to meet the audience and take pictures, but they only do it for about 10 minutes and don't sign autographs.)

They could stick to the traditional "green" Maleficent, that would be fine by me.

I think Disney is missing a huge segment of fans by avoiding the villains.

I would certainly expect them to do that. They didn't change any Wonderland characters after releasing the live movie.

Doubt it, though I would LOVE it. One of the big draws for MNSSHP is seeing the Villains. I could see them adding more M&G time after the shows during the party. I do hope this means that we will see a bump in the Merch department.

She's already a meet-able character, so I don't think that's a good comparison. I hope they bring her out, but would not be surprised if they don't.

In 2005 (I think) I was at DL at Christmastime and they were advertising that the "White Witch" from the Narnia series would appear near the Sleeping Beauty Castle at certain times. I don't think you could meet here, it was some sort of staged show that was short. I did not get to see it.

You can meet Maleficent, Cruella and the evil queen. all face charters as well as Gaston , Lady Temaine, the evil step sisters.
