Ok so if I can get the days off work (will find out Monday!!) then I'm going to bite the bullet and book for us to go from 9th-11th dec!!! My mam passed away jan 25th this year and I've been dreading Christmas without her so I've decided we deserve this treat. We have been to DLP before but for a longer break so timing wasn't an issue. I'm looking for advice from all you experts as to how to make the most of a short stay? Only must dos on my list would be breakfast in the disneyland hotel , seeing the christmas parades and meeting santa! Are there any other festive must dos? How would you plan your time to make the most of the break?! Thanks in advance xx

We quite often do 2 night trips, so I have experience of this. Decide which day you want to watch Christmas Dreams. Will you be wanting to do that followed by early entry the next morning? Decide what rides you want to do and make the most of fastpass. Look at the parade schedules and the times for any meet and greets you want to do. You will need to plan these carefully and decide which you want to do each day. As you will be fitting in as much as possible and it will be cold, taking breaks in the warm will be very important. We often just go into the Disneyland hotel to have a hot drink in the Fantasia bar just to relax and warm up in a comfy place.
It is possible to get a lot in during a 2 night trip. But you will be tired when you get home!

Look up what rides and everything is closed, the hours of the trip, if you are staying onsite use the EMH. We are going back for a 2 night trip for Thanksgiving week and each of us have chosen 1 thing we want to do/see, and 1 ride each. That way we know what we want to do, and have enough time to try and do it all on the first day so in case something happens we have a chance to see it the second or third day we are there. You may not get to do everything that everyone wants to do, so make sure each member of the family has a say to keep them happy.

Thanks all! Would you think I need to book dinner for the Monday and Tuesday evenings for those dates? Kids are 5 and almost 3 so dining anywhere up market is out lol! When we were there October 2012 I didn't book anything other than cafe mickey and it was fine.

hmmm..... I have heard that early December does get a little busy, but I would say if it fits into your schedule and it makes you feel better, make the reservations. We had made reservations and had to cancel them, we cancelled and remade them the same day, but for a different time.

I would book the character meal though.

Will find out tomoro if I can get the days off work!!! Am keeping everything crossed I can as am desperate to go!

Bear in mind that the 6th and 8th are spanish national hols and that many people also have the 9th free. It could still be very busy in the park on that day....
