Making the DVC Rounds...A March '11 PTR: TR link added p. 30

that's cool about spring training! i cannot wait for spring training to start up, i love the start of a baseball season (:

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Sarah!

It is always exciting when baseball starts up again. It could be an interesting season for the Brewers...we'll see what happens though.

Hope you had a good holiday too! :goodvibes

I hope you had a great Christmas!!!

And who knows, you could catch a ball in the outfield, wouldn't that be incredible?!

Thanks Brook. Hope you had a good one too and Santa was good to Henry (and you of course, hehe).

That would be pretty sweet to catch a ball. My sister would probably be really jealous.

Joining in!
Sounds like you have a great trip planned :goodvibes

Welcome! Thanks for joining in!

Ahh, it sure is nice to have a week off of school. So what better thing to do than talk more about Disney??? I just realized that today we're only 89 days away AND my ticker says 2 months (and 30 days, but hey, two months is not that long at all!). Since we're getting closer, along with my countdown game, I thought I'd start sharing my must-do lists which is pretty typical for all of my PTRs. They're usually really similar but since we've got an extra full day we'll probably be able to squeeze in some things that we don't do a lot. So here we go with the must-dos!

Sarah's MCO Must-dos

Yes, you read right, MCO must-dos. I know that sounds really strange but there are a couple things that I've decided we have to do before we can even set foot in the Magical Express welcome area. It's not a very long list but I can't leave them out!

:cool2: Get lunch at Chick-Fil-A!!!!

ChickfilANuggets.JPG

Don't those nuggets look so good?!?!?! If you've read my other TRs you know that it's become sort of a family tradition to pick up lunch at Chick-Fil-A after we land. It's like a treat to get it since we don't have any CFA's around here anymore. :sad2: Though now that I think about it, our flight is later than usual so by the time we get there it'll be more like an afternoon snack/early dinner. Oh well, I'm not passing it up this time (we couldn't get it in August because we left on a Sunday and the darn place is CLOSED on Sundays.:mad::mad:). We usually just take it with us to eat while we wait for the bus. :thumbsup2

:cool2: Visit the Universal Store

IMG_6584.jpg

Yes, I think the picture sums it all up...HARRY POTTER!!! I really only want to go there for one thing: another chocolate frog!!! LOL. Mmm those things were good even if they were kind of expensive. But since we won't be visiting WWOHP again (even though I kind of want to...hehe) I want to get one.

Once those two things are accomplished then it'll be time to get our bus to Old Key West!!! :dance3:

And since another week has passed, time for the next Quote of the Week!!

This week's quote comes from Epcot and more specifically, the Imagination pavilion. It kind of makes you think how many times can you use the same word in the same sentence. Anybody know what I'm talking about? If you guessed Dr. Nigel Channing's safety spiel in the waiting area for Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, you'd be correct! As he warns everyone before entering the theater,

"For your safety, do not put on the safety goggles until you are safely seated safely inside the theater safely."

:rotfl: So dorky but so funny too. It's one of my dad's favorite lines to quote. :thumbsup2 Gotta love it.

Want to hear it for yourself? Here's a youtube video! It's actually from Disneyland but it's still the same show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWIC-RpRHXI

Have a great day!!!

:cool2: Get lunch at Chick-Fil-A!!!!

Everyone always says Chick-Fil-A is awesome, and I always wondered where it is in the airport. We always fly Southwest, and the only restaurants in the airside terminal are McDonald's and Sbarro (for counter service meals, anyway). So I finally just went and looked up a restaurant map from MCO, and apparently CFA is located just across from the security to A side. We've been walking right past it! :headache::rolleyes1 Depending on flight times and other meals planned for our arrival/departure days, perhaps we will finally make a stop there!

I've only been to Chick Fil A ONCE in my entire life, and that was driving home from North Carolina in September! It was soooo good though, I wish they had them around here, but there's not one anywhere close to CT! :confused3 I had no idea they had one in MCO!

That Disney quote is cute! :thumbsup2

Oh Chick Fil A! How I love thee:love: In fact that is what we had for lunch. I'm not sure what I'd do if we moved somewhere I couldn't get it regularly!

I call it Crack fil A because it's so ADDICTIVE! :rotfl:

Not to brag, but I have 5 of them in my town! :thumbsup2

Howard and I had Chik-Fil-A at one of the malls in NJ fairly recently with my mom and brother. Mmm, the whole time I was saying, "No wonder why Sarah likes it so much!" We had chicken sandwiches and waffle fries. Yum to those waffle fries!

Chick-Fil-A! You know, I've never eaten there before but when we were in FL visiting Chris' family a few weeks ago we drove past one and I definitely thought of you since I've been around for quite a few of your TRs and know your tradition :thumbsup2

Enjoy your week off from school!

Man, you are right about Chick-Fil-A! I normally go there when I visit my cousin in Texas. They do breakfast too and it's awesome! ;)

I need to get lunch at Chick-Fil-A at MCO when I take my next trip to Disney. I keep hearing such good things about it and your picture of the chicken nuggets look sooo good!

Glad to know that you'll be able to make it to Chic-Fil-A this time. :thumbsup2

Alright, we are Chic-Fil-A virgins here...what do we need to order when we go there? Is it like KFC and all chicken? Don't hate me for being oblivious...remember that we live in Canada and have never heard of it until I started reading TR's. So, everyone...a little help...what do we order?

The Gate-keeper saying, "Welcome Home". My dh asks me everytime, "why do they say that". :rotfl:

OMG Sarah I 43, 894/ I94 to the airport is a mess. I picked up my dd yesterday at the airport and it was early afternoon and it took me over 15 minutes to go less than a mile. If you are on I43 you have to get way over to the right now, they switched up lanes. Luckily for me, I was on the right coming from 894 and I didn't have to get over. And the lane to the airport was open, so I zipped on down. When we left to Phoenix last week, it was the same way. My son said, he is glad he doesn't live down in Oak Creek any longer. It is like that every day now. My son said it would be better to go in on 794 and come in the back way from Cudahy. I love that rode, the jets fly right over your head.

great update! My mom and I had CFA for dinner before we left in Dec!! I love love love their sweet tea! I have one about 15 mins from my work so I'll go there for lunch sometimes if I can justify the drive! They actually make and sell calendars there that have free coupons on the bottom! You get one a month and they range from a free sandwich to fries and drinks..even a large milkshake! The cook at my daycare center gets me one each Xmas and I love it! A whole year of Chick-fil-A goodness!

As you well know all your PTRs highlighting those pretty little nuggets are what convinced me to stop not once, but TWICE! :rotfl: Sooooo good. And it WILL be on my list as well. ::yes::

The chocolate frog - was it just really high quality chocolate, or did it have anything in it, nuts, etc? I have read a couple TRs where people commented on them and said they were delish!

LOL, yeah, it's in a pretty big food court and there are TONS of stores near it too. I hope you get to stop there and try it. Soooo good. :thumbsup2

We used to have one at a mall around here but that closed several years ago. So now whenever we go somewhere and see one we have to stop.

hehe, thanks. Gotta love HISTA.

Oh Chick Fil A! How I love thee:love: In fact that is what we had for lunch. I'm not sure what I'd do if we moved somewhere I couldn't get it regularly!

Well, I think you might survive...we're OK without it but it sure would be nice if they put one around here though! :)

I call it Crack fil A because it's so ADDICTIVE! :rotfl:

Not to brag, but I have 5 of them in my town! :thumbsup2

LOL! I like that. It is pretty addicting (and probably a lot better than crack anyway. :rotfl:).

Oh hush. :snooty: I can't really brag about having anything around here...maybe lots of frozen custard places. hahaha

Howard and I had Chik-Fil-A at one of the malls in NJ fairly recently with my mom and brother. Mmm, the whole time I was saying, "No wonder why Sarah likes it so much!" We had chicken sandwiches and waffle fries. Yum to those waffle fries!

Yes, the fries are good. But those little chicken nuggets...MMMMMMMM. Glad you enjoyed CFA too. :thumbsup2

:rotfl: I am becoming known as the Chick Fil A girl on here. Too funny. I can't believe you didn't stop though. You should definitely go next time.

Man, you are right about Chick-Fil-A! I normally go there when I visit my cousin in Texas. They do breakfast too and it's awesome! ;)

I've never had breakfast there. But that sounds really good!

I need to get lunch at Chick-Fil-A at MCO when I take my next trip to Disney. I keep hearing such good things about it and your picture of the chicken nuggets look sooo good!

Yes, you should go there! You won't regret it!

Glad to know that you'll be able to make it to Chic-Fil-A this time. :thumbsup2

haha yes, it is a very good thing it will be open this time. :cool1:

I won't hate you. Because I'm so boring and always get the same thing (just the chicken nuggets) I don't know if they have anything else. I'm pretty sure it's all chicken but not like KFC chicken. The nuggets are just so juicy and way better than any other fast food places. I know my dad likes the chicken sandwich. And of course the waffle fries!

Yes, I love "Welcome Home!" too. That might make an appearance as a quote of the week sometime...;)

15 minutes to go less than a mile?! Yikes. It's really hard to find anywhere around here that isn't a mess. My mom, sister and I went out that way a few weeks ago and it was nuts. But we don't go out that way too often otherwise.

great update! My mom and I had CFA for dinner before we left in Dec!! I love love love their sweet tea! Ahhh lucky, I wish I could enjoy Chick-Fil-A goodness for a whole year. But nope, none around here. :sad2:

As you well know all your PTRs highlighting those pretty little nuggets are what convinced me to stop not once, but TWICE! :rotfl: Sooooo good. And it WILL be on my list as well. ::yes::

The chocolate frog - was it just really high quality chocolate, or did it have anything in it, nuts, etc? I have read a couple TRs where people commented on them and said they were delish!

hahaha, yes, I remember reading about your first experience there.

I don't think it's really high quality chocolate. It was fine to me but then again we're easy to please. LOL. I know some people might say otherwise. I'm sure they just gouged the price since it's Harry Potter/Universal and people are willing to pay for it. They didn't have any nuts in them, just solid milk chocolate but they were pretty big too. And you can't forget about the card you get in the box featuring one of the Hogwarts founders!

So I noticed that in ash-n-brensmom's PTR, you filled out the Disney World survey I created. Thanks for participating! I'm glad that it's catching on. :)

I noticed you mentioned you went to Discovery Island when it was still around. What was that place like? There isn't a lot of information about it on the internet. Was it like a zoo with just tropical animals?

You're welcome!! I've seen it on a lot of PTRs...it was fun filling out!

Yeah, we went there once, on one of our first trips. I don't remember too much about it. I guess the best way to describe it would be think of Discovery Island at Animal Kingdom. It wasn't too big and had different animals, mostly birds I remember. I know as we were walking along we saw this really big pelican-type bird just standing in the middle of the walkway and it freaked me out. :rotfl: I wish I had some pictures!!

Pretty late to the party, but I'm here!

I can't believe you are going back again before I do! :lmao:
