Making the DVC Rounds...A March '11 PTR: TR link added p. 30

Your trip is so close!!!! :dance3: I hope you are able to dodge the crowds...but regardless, you will still have a great time-you will be in Disney!!!

Congratulations to your sister on the CP!!! That is just awesome. What a very cool experience that will be. Which area is she going to work in?

Only one week to go now!!! I hope we can dodge the crowds too-our parents said it was busy but dad said it wasn't anything too unusual. We're planning on being at the parks for rope drop so hopefully we'll be OK!

Thanks, she is excited! She's in QSFB so now we'll have to wait and see where she gets placed. Should be interesting!

Single digits!!!! So exciting! This is always the time that I really start counting down.

Happy Saturday everyone!!!

Only one week to go!!!

:wizard::cool1::thumbsup2

I suppose it's time to get the suitcase out of the attic and maybe start packing...haha!

This is a little off-topic but last weekend was my birthday. As you know some of my family was in Disney World so Claire and I celebrated at home. We just went out for dinner and had some cake. Exciting, huh? hehe No, we had fun. I also got some Disney-related birthday presents!!

First up was Epic Mickey!! We'd been talking about getting it for a while and I had a Target gift card to spend so I figured why not?

I've only played a little bit but it's pretty cool. And I like how Oswald the Lucky Rabbit makes an appearance! :thumbsup2

The next thing came direct from WDW! Before they left for their trip, my mom asked me if I wanted her to bring anything back for me. Well, since we'll be going in a few days I didn't need a lot, but I've been wanting that monorail t-shirt for a while now too. So I asked for that. Love it!!!

Can't wait to wear it next week. :thumbsup2

Alright, and finally for some more plans. I did all the parks but what about Downtown Disney? Since we'll be at OKW it'll be pretty easy to go over there. Hopefully we can go over there a couple times. Since our flight next Saturday doesn't get in until later we'll probably go over there for a while.

Sarah's Downtown Disney Must-dos

First of all, to get there, I definitely want to take the boat from Old Key West. It's such a relaxing ride. :thumbsup2

pirate: Characters in Flight balloon...this is something I've been wanting to do for a while now. We all know how it's closed more often than not  but my family was able to do it last week and it seems so cool! My sister was showing me her pictures yesterday and some of the views are awesome! Check this out...

I know it's expensive but it's not like we'd be going on it every trip. It's just something different!

pirate: Eat at Earl of Sandwich...need I say more?

And then of course there are the stores. We always like to visit:

pirate: World of Disney

pirate: Disney Pin Traders...no trip is complete without getting a pin or two! This trip I'm thinking an Old Key West one (I have one for every resort I've stayed at so I feel like I have to get an OKW one!), Rapunzel, and/or a 40th anniversary pin.

pirate: Team Mickey

I'll probably go into Tren-D too and admire all of the Disney Dooney and Bourke bags. If only I could justify the amount of $$ to get one of them. :rotfl: And then on the West Side we'll go check out D-Street, aka vinylmation heaven. I'd still like to eat at the T-Rex Cafe but I don't know if it'll happen this trip. We'll see.

So what are your favorite things to do at Downtown Disney?

Honestly, my favorite thing about DTD, is just getting there via POR. I love just floating down river in the boats. It's sooo relaxing. It's kinda the first real thing that makes me believe I'm at Disney!

Happy Belated Birthday Sarah! It sounds like you and your sis had a fun day!

I'd like to do the Characters in Flight someday too, just to say I have. You're right, it's not something to do every trip, but it's something different and the views look great!

My DTD must do: visit the Days of Christmas store to buy a new ornament for our tree. And of course, eat at EoS :thumbsup2

I am so excited that you only have a week until you leave:worship:

I love to grab a pina colada at the Margarita Stand and just sit by the water and take it all in! Don't get me wrong, I love shopping and wandering around, but I love sitting by the water and just enjoying ourselves!!

Jasmine would say Tren-D all the way...her very favorite store at DTD!

Can't believe your trip is almost here, how exciting!!! :woohoo: :dance3: :yay:

I've wanted Epic Mickey for a while, it looks like so much fun! I still gotta get that TSM game, too!

I've been trying to convince Brandon to get that monorail shirt forever, but he feels stupid wearing it for some reason! I might just get it if he doesn't want it, I love it!

Great DTD plans! I didn't know resorts had their own pins! I don't collect pins, but it would be nice to have something from each resort!

:thumbsup2

Ahh I love the monorail shirt! :goodvibes I was looking all over Disney for it last trip but they didn't have it in any of the monorail resorts for some reason. I finally found it at a stand in Epcot but I didn't buy it since I ran out of money on my Disney gift card. How does it fit? I couldn't tell if it's sized in men's or unisex.

Good luck with that darn Character balloon. You know I have not had the best luck!

Woo hoo, so close! I have that monorail shirt and I love it. I wear it as a jammie top with my Mickey jammie pants. I've been wondering if I should get Epic Mickey. :rolleyes1

FYI re: spring breaks times. I'm in south Florida (sort of) and 2 counties that I know of had their spring break this past week. I believe some Orlando school districts are having theirs this coming week and my school district begins 3/26 (when I will be leaving for WDW). It's very scattered down here, as I'm sure the rest of the country is especially with Easter being so late this year.
Ok. If you are at the MK, Thurs. April 1, I'll be there. Look for the band at the 9:00 p.m. parade. They will be playing "On Wisconsin". They have been marching past my house all last week. Thank goodness it was warm for them. It is suppose to be back in the 30's and 20's this week. Brrr.

Sarah-I am totally going to find that shirt for my dd. She calls me all the time and speaks in Spanish to me. I'm getting better with a few words.

Ola!!

I love those monorail t-shirts!

You know, I don't have any DTD must-dos. I don't even go every trip. I guess it's just not all too appealing to me. I do love me some WPE though.

I am SO jealous that you are going to WDW in LESS THAN A WEEK!!! That is so exciting!

I agree, at DTD Earl of Sandwich is a must! I wish we had one of those around here! World of Disney and Pin Traders are also on my must-do list, as well as D-Street. I also would like to try T-Rex but whenever I pass by there its so busy I can't even get in the shop!

Well, I'm so excited for you and I know you'll have tons of fun! I am definitely looking forward to you TR! :thumbsup2

SINGLE DIGITS TODAY!!!

:eek::yay::dance3::goodvibes

Not much to report on other than that. I talked to my family a couple times and it does sound like it's busier than usual, even for busy times! Yesterday they were at the Animal Kingdom for rope drop and couldn't even ride the safari. :sad2: They went to do Expedition Everest first and got a fastpass, so they couldn't get one at the safaris. Still sounds like they were able to do pretty much everything they wanted to. So not like I was expecting anything otherwise but I guess there's going to be big crowds when we're there. Maybe it'll slow down in a couple weeks. Guess we'll have to wait and see!

Hey, Sarah, now that we're back, maybe I should do my own trip report. I should have you show me how you add pictures. Before everyone laughs at the old guy, I'm sure it's easy, but I just need the steps for parking and drawing on photos. Emma took 400 pictures, so I'll have plenty to choose from.

Its almost heeeeeeeeeeeeere! Love Epic Mickey! I'm stuck on one area and its killing me :rotfl2:

I hope you get to do the Characters in Flight!

Our DTD plans always include EoS too! Of course there is the WoD store and the pin station and Basin! Love me those bath bombs! :thumbsup2

Honestly, my favorite thing about DTD, is just getting there via POR. I love just floating down river in the boats. It's sooo relaxing. It's kinda the first real thing that makes me believe I'm at Disney!

I would like to go over to POR to check it out. The boat rides are fun!

Happy Belated Birthday Sarah! It sounds like you and your sis had a fun day!

Thanks!

Hopefully we can both do the Characters in Flight balloon!

The Christmas store is always fun to look in too. :thumbsup2

I am so excited that you only have a week until you leave:worship:

Jasmine would say Tren-D all the way...her very favorite store at DTD!

Getting really close now...I can't believe it.

People watching/relaxing is great. No better place to do it, right?

Can't believe your trip is almost here, how exciting!!! :woohoo: :dance3: :yay:

I've wanted Epic Mickey for a while, it looks like so much fun! I still gotta get that TSM game, too!

Great DTD plans! I didn't know resorts had their own pins! I don't collect pins, but it would be nice to have something from each resort!

I love the TSM game. Though I haven't played in a while...:rolleyes1 But it's so much like the real ride only without the special effects. haha!

Yeah, the resorts do have pins! I know the Pin Trader store at DTD usually has most of them too. But it's neat having one from all the resorts I've stayed at.

I couldn't tell if it's sized in men's or unisex.

haha, I told my mom I remembered seeing it at a stand near the main Epcot entrance. That's how much I've been wanting to get it! I think it's men's sizes so I just got a small.

Good luck with that darn Character balloon. You know I have not had the best luck!

Woo hoo, so close! I have that monorail shirt and I love it. I wear it as a jammie top with my Mickey jammie pants. I've been wondering if I should get Epic Mickey. :rolleyes1

Yes, you should get Epic Mickey. haha

Sarah-I am totally going to find that shirt for my dd. She calls me all the time and speaks in Spanish to me. I'm getting better with a few words.

Ola!!

I was looking at the weather forecast and saw something about a chance of flurries on Saturday!

haha, nice. I don't really know a whole lot of Spanish since I took French in high school.

I love those monorail t-shirts!

You know, I don't have any DTD must-dos. I don't even go every trip. I guess it's just not all too appealing to me. I do love me some WPE though.

On our shorter trips it's always harder for us to get over there. I like going because you can kind of get the theme park/Disney atmosphere without going to a park.

:thumbsup2

It seems like not too long ago we were 150 days away. Now it's just a couple days away!

Ahh, I wish we had Earl of Sandwich around here too! I remember looking it up once and I don't think there are too many restaurants around the country. Kind of like the Rainforest Cafe. Boo!

You should do a TR! That would be cool even though we pretty much know everything you guys did. The only thing that makes adding pictures a little complicated is that you have to upload them to a site like photobucket (I put mine in albums on facebook so I just use that) before you can post them on here. You can edit them on photobucket too, like blurring out spots and stuff.

:thumbsup2

Uh oh, I'm sure I'll be getting stuck eventually too! Heck it took me a while to figure out how to get out of that dang castle in the first level! Yes, I stink at video games. :rolleyes1

3 days woooo!!! I'll send some good weather pixie dust you way! It for sure helped us and we didn't have a drop of rain!

Watch out for the airport, it was crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The parks were pretty crazy at times too but if you have a plan of attack you'll be fine. Take advantage of PM EMH, it for sure helped us at Epcot and MK with them being open till 12 and 3 am!

3 days!!! :yay:

Of course, I'm looking forward to another one of your great TRs when you get back! Not to rush your trip or anything, lol :thumbsup2

It's so close for you! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you guys for great weather! Bring some back home!!!!
