I wanted to make (or have made) sweatshirts or t-shirts for our family's cruise in October. Any thoughts on what i could put on them or where I can find a Disney-cruise type picture? I was thinking of putting a pciture, then underneath our family name and then the dates?

Anyone else does this - please share you tips. Also - would it be legal to have the Disney Cruise logo airbrushed on a t-shirt or pillowcase?

Thanks for your help!

Tammy, I think I can answer this for you. Last year on member of our group used clip art and made a "Logo" with the name of our group underneath it. She then printed it out on "transfer paper". This is found in any craft store. She then mailed the transfers to all the members of our group and we ironed them on our own T-shirts. Because this is for our own personal use, and was not "sold" to anyone no copywrite laws are broken.

We all wore or shirts the day we boarded the ship and it really helped us "find" each other!

Have a wonderful cruise!

I made t-shirts for our group for the cruise we just returned from. I used Avery's Transfer paper for Dark materials and they worked like a charm.

What I did was come up with a theme for our trip

"Four Friends, Three Nights, Two Islands, One WONDERful Adventue"

and then made it into a design over a beach photograph that I had taken previously. I printed these on the transfer paper and then ironed them onto the backs of the shirts.

I also made little "pocket monograms" for the front of the shirts that had each of our names and then "Girlfriends Cruise" and the dates of the trip.

I thought about using the DCL logo for the front monogram but I was concerned about copyright. I think I would have been fine for personal use but I decided not to take any chances.

It was really easy and fun and we got lots of positive comments.

Have fun creating.

You are only limited by your imagination. I am attaching a photo of my DW and DD wearing t-shirts that I made for out Spring 2002 trip to WDW. On the t-shirt, is a photo that was taken of our family as we entered the Magic Kingdom during our WDW 2000 vacation. I have made hundreds of t-shirts for many different occasions. Recently for our Nov 2002 trip to VB, I made DVC Member t-shirts and sweatshirts. For this trip I made a different t-shirt for each day.

I use invent-it iron ons, they are very easy to use. I usually buy mine at their website www.invent-it.com

Making t-shirts has become a hobby for me, it's a great deal of fun, but like I said before, you are only limited by your imagination.

Hubby and I are the King and Queen of custom t-shirts! Rather than airbrushing, we like to take photos and then bring them to a local store that takes them from a CD and puts them onto a transfer that they iron onto a shirt. They can also add wording. For example, hubby took a photo of my two favorite stateroom art pictures on the ship...I had one put into the front of the shirt and one on the back, with our website address under it. We also like to put photos of our cruise line friends onto our t-shirts to see who notices (my favorite is one of us at a Castaway Club party with Cruise Director Rick and Captain John).
