My BIL/SIL own at OKW and my DH and I own at SSR. If we want to plan a trip at peak time but want to stay at the same resort, can one of us reserve two rooms at the 11 month mark and pay for them separately with our own points? I'm trying to avoid transferring points, but may have to if that's the only option! Thanks!

No, only points from the respective resort can be used at the 11 month mark. Even people who own at multiple resorts can not combine those points for reservations until the 7 month mark.

If you plan to travel together in the future, why not use your points to book and stay at SSR, then the next time, use your in-laws points to book and stay at OKW?

Oh...I see. So even if they did transfer points into our account, we would still have to use the SSR points to pay for the ressies. If they did transfer points, from what I read, their points would come to our account retaining the same UY (theirs is Dec, ours is Aug) and privilages for their resort (OKW versus SSR).

Also, thanks for the "I pay this time, you pay next time" suggestion. Honestly, I hadn't thought of it, but trust them. Even if we didn't plan a future trip, I know they would book and pay with their points for us if need be. GREAT idea!

Appreciate the response.

since you both own at the 2 biggest DVC's you could both book at your own resort for the same time at 11 months, then at 7 months switch one of the ressie to your resort of choice. Depending on when you want to go you shouldn't have to hard a time switching one of them at 7 months out since SSR and OKW are so big.

If you have enough points without borrowing and your UY doesn't impinge on your banking window, here's what I'd do. I'd reserve at BOTH resorts for everything you need. With one of you reserving OKW and the other SSR. Then at the 7 month window, I'd see if you can reserve the second room at the preferred non home resort and cancel the second reservation made at the 11 month mark. If you don't have enough points to do this, reserve a the trip at separate resorts at 11 months out while trying to get the second room at the preferred resort at 7 months out. Make sure to use the wait list if you don't get it initially.

There are a number of variations to these 3 themes that you could use as well as the decision whether to do day by day for the 7 month reservation.
