Making reservations for a friend?

I am planning to make reservations for friends during April '07. If I am short points, can I pay cash(hopefully with the member discount) for the additional nights needed and still put the entire reservation in their name?

As far as I know member discounted cash rooms must be occupied by the DVC owner. Otherwise there would be nothing to stop DVCers from reserving the rooms and renting them for less than Disney, making a tidy 25% profit.

That's what I figured...I guess the best option is to get points transferred to my account.
