Making Reservations - 11 month and 7 month calculations

I am new to DVC. How exactly is the 11 month/7 month time point calculated? For example, I want to make a reservation at my home resort for 12/15/16. Am I eligible to make the reservation on 1/15/16 or is the 11 months calculated by the day? I tried to find a thread on this already and could not locate one.

It is by day of the month. You could make that on 1/15/16. For months that have less than 31 days, you have to wait until the first of the next month. For example, on April 30th, you could book Mar 30. You could not book March 31st until May 1 since there is no April 31st.

So on May 1 you can also book April 1? kind of skips the 31st.
