I need to make some signs and bumper stickers magnetic (either that, or tape them to my car). They're already printed; the signs aren't adhesive in any way, and I'd rather not have to scrape bumper stickers off at a later date. Would that blue painters tape leave a residue? Any suggestions?

You can buy magnetic business card material at Office Depot/Max. You peel off the paper on one side to reveal the adhesive and then you stick the paper to it. They may have bigger sizes.

Awesome, thanks! I have time to stop at Staples. If the other office supply chains have it, they must too, right?

I have the sticker from my local dump (er, Transfer station) which I didn't want to stick on my car (since sometimes I drive DH's to the dump), So I encased it in clear contact paper on both sides, then when I want to put it in the windshield, I slightly wet the front and stick it to the inside of the front windshield and it usually stays until I move it. Maybe you could do the same?

My SO is president of his Corvette Club and they use blue painter's tape when they affix numbers on their cars for their annual autocross. It doesn't stick and comes off easily. As picky as his is about his car, he wouldn't use anything that would hurt the paint!!!!

Okay, I bit the bullet and stuck one bumper sticker to my car. I'm going all-out tomorrow - hardware store before work, then Michael's, AC Moore, and Staples afterwards. Thanks for all the help!

Lots of places sell the magnetic material in strips, and you could just attach a couple of strips to your signs. I know for sure that WalMart carries this stuff.
