Tell me the items I am going to forget. My DS7 and I will be there in early Oct and this is our first time. I have the basics on my list but my memory is awful so I list everything that pops in my head.

LOL! I always forget something when we travel, but its never the same thing twice. Some common forgotten items: hair dryer, hair brush, razor, toothbrush/toothpaste, alarm clock (not all hotels have them), camera equipment/film/batteries, hats. Its usually either a last minute packing item (something that is in use until the day of departure) or an off-season item (like a hat during a winter trip).

The things I always seem to forget when I pack are: pajamas, toothbrush/toothpaste, and extra shoes.

A little first aid kit: Bandaids, tylenol, cough syrup, cold medicine, antibiotic ointment, tweezers, mole skin, nail clippers.

i always manage to get a snag in my nail and catch it on everything. my WDW med kit now contains an emory board.

Oh, and certain "lady" products. Got caught once without :o and paid and arm and a leg. Never again!!!

The things I usually forget are the items I throw in at the last minute, like my hair brush. I brought mole skin once and didn't have any scissors to cut it to the right size. There are some excellent sights with packing lists. Those have helped me a lot. i just printed them off, then made my own packing list on my computer with only the items my family uses.

One thing I always forget to pack is aloe. It's nice to put cooling aloe on a sunburn if you miss a spot with the suntan lotion. I actually went and bought some for my trip next week today.

Okay, don't laugh. Foam ear protection. Many of the attractions are WAY too loud for us.

My DH is an electrician so we always try to bring a bunch of little packages with us! They are bright orange and mold themselves to your inner ear. Works great especially at Fantasmic!

What really helps me and it takes so much of the stress away is to make 4 lists: A general everything packing list, the what to do the week before list (cancel paper, mail etc), the night before list and the last minute list (brush, toothbrush) and I check these lists constantly. As I actually PACK it into the suitcase I cross it off. I especially check this list at the last minute. This has worked for four years in a row now and I have never forgotten a thing. It works! :D

I've purchase already for september is "replacement" tooth brushes, cheaper hair brushes, combs personal everday stuff and its already in the "packing tub" so that I won't have to remember it the last minute and if i lose of leave it in WDW I still have the favorite at home..

Once my suitcase is mostly packed up, I always make a list of "last minute" items to pack and put it on top of the suitcase - stuff I need right up until I leave like toothbrush, hairbrush, glasses, my watch. By putting it on top of the suitcase I guarantee I'll at least stumble over it before I leave.

I tend to forget my glasses a lot when I travel. I wear contacts so it's not a huge deal, but stumbling around hotel rooms at night, blind as a bat, is no fun at all.

I am a list maker too. I am contantly writing and then revising my list of what to pack, what to buy. I also cross off on my list when it is IN the suitcase. Right now my list includes: Dont overpack( a nice little reminder for myself as I tend to get carried away sometimes) xtra suitcase for souvies, quarters in film containers for laundry or arcade, buy more film (rather have too much than buy it down there !) If you are a smoker buy smokes before you leave home. Dont forget any tickets and Id's. Perscription medication. Cell phone. Dollar bills for tips at airport and hotel. little travel hairspray (I always forget that !) Q-tips. And I print out all my tip sheets that I have copied and pasted into a folder from this board to read over and over on the plane down ! :) Have a great trip !

I have a list saved on the computer that I've been keeping and adding to every year. Even with the list, I forgot fingernail clippers (and it's on the list!). Found them at the AKL store and bought one.

Whenever we travel, I have this routine where we have to have everything piled up by the back door. Nothing (!) goes in the car until I say we're ready. It really works for me. I go though the final check list and then we're off.

I learned this from bad experience. My ex- would get impatient and start putting things in the car long before we were ready. We'd arrive at our destination with a half-packed cooler with no ice. A beach bag with no blanket or sunscreen. My suitcase would be at the bottom of the trunk and I'd come downstairs with my toiletries and hair brush and no place to pack them. Uggghhh.
