GRRRR, I guess I should be glad when it is a slow news day, it means there were no gruesome deaths or violent acts committed.

OK, here is the scoop. Ayla Brown on American Idol is from Mass. Her mom is a news reporter for Channel 5 in Boston. (She is the poor "on the spot" reporter for the 5AM & 6AM news YUCK). Her dad is a Senator.

OK, so last night, during the local breaks in AI Fox 25 news would give us the "coming up at 10PM" preview if the nights news. One of them was...will a local girls involvement in AI have an impact on the race for Governor?

So, I am sitting here thinking, what kind of political controversy can this cause?

Know what the bigs news was? The reporters were trying to speculate whether or not Sam Brown (Ayla's dad) would be picked as Kerry Healey's running mate for Governor, you know with his daughter on AI and all. They interviewed Mr. Brown and all he said was one doesn't have anything to do with the other. He seemed confused as to why they were even trying to connect the two. Then, we discover, the Healey camp really has no comment. Healey is expected to announce her running mate next week.

:confused3 So, the segment ended, and I was left confused. Can I sue them to get my 5 minutes back? What the heck was that?

Talk about no news.....

Our local station reported that Waffle House will soon start accepting plastic! :confused3 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Even the newscaster started laughing! :goodvibes

Now that is serious news!!!

We have no news up here, either, and I am grateful for that.

At least the newscast isn't full of rapes and murders and kidnappings and carjackings and muggings and robberies and fires and drugs.

For that I'll gladly hear about how Fish and Wildlife officials rescued a deer in the middle of a frozen pond.

No, you can't get those 5 mintues back. But you can take back 30 minutes a night by skipping local TV news broadcasts. There is, what, 2-3 minutes of actual news in each show?

I thought I was the only one rolling my eyes at the Ayla Brown story. I couldn't take it anymore this morning and changed the channel. I ALWAYS watch the Fox25 Morning News. I LOVE it. This actually got me to turn away. Anytime someone can get me to turn off Doug Meehan....well, you know it's bad.

That and his bogus traffic report this morning. "93 South is backed up from 495....." I leave 20 minutes early. No traffic. No back up. I'm 45 minutes early for my appointment. He's lucky he's so adorable.

The sad part is that this story ran at 5pm, 5:30pm, 10pm and then this morning again. ENOUGH. :crazy2:

I always said to watch out when the Waffle House starts accepting plastic. What is the world coming to? :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I work at a Boston TV station (not the one mentioned here) and I go absolutely nuts at work when we run these dumb stories, and call them "news." Argh!!! :crazy2:

Apparently, someone watches though...

I think it's just a pathetic attempt to get publicity for some politician that wants to move up.
Now in the REALLY important local news today, channel 7 ran a split screen at the beginning of Regis & Kelly this morning to report the Manny has reported to spring training!

Oh boy! It's a slow newsday there! Lol. After her performance last night it may be a non issue after tomorrow :) she was just not good. Well overall the ladies were not great last night. I was bummed.
