Making my own lanyards - need help!

I hope it's ok to ask this here...

I am making Disney lanyards for our family and honestly I have never owned one so I need help on one part - the id tag holder.

I have been searching for what I think will be the best holder and I have no clue since I haven't used one before. I found what I thought would be great - waterproof, zippered holders that hold credit card size : 2 3/4 x 3 3/8 ( on the inside) or I could do the no zipper - open ones that are a little bit larger. I thought the smaller ones would be good for the kids so they don't lose anything and they would be waterproof-for any wet adventures or spills. But, will they be big enough to hold their pass and paper id I want to print up?

Just curious what everyone usually uses and also if the non-zippered ones keep everything IN the holder w/ no problems.

I bought the vertical badge holders that have like a flap that folds over the top... My DD was able to carry her ID in it for her SAT/ACT testing since she could NOT carry in her phone/purse etc.

I just tried a ticket from 2010 and it fits in there perfectly with room to add an ID or money. Actually today we are decorating the outside of the holders for one of my DD's 4-H projects. I will post a photo when complete.

I am one that worries about waterproof so whenever we ride water rides, I always collect everyone's lanyards and put them into a ziploc baggie and into my bigger bag for safe keeping....
