I have actually been selling on Ebay for several years. I have 100 % positive feedback and I buy and sell several times a year. I mostly sell my children's outgrown clothing and use the money to buy them new clothes. I have done well so far, but would really like to take the next step and maybe open an Ebay store. My plan is to continue with selling clothing or maybe a few other things that I may find at yard sales or thrift stores. I guess what I would like to know is are people really making a lot of money doing this? With ebay fees and shipping etc. the costs can get very high. I would like to make around $100 per week after all the fees, so how much stuff would I need to sell? Any advice on selling, opening an ebay store, wholesalers etc. would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a person with an eBay store and my opinion is that the fees and charges are getting so high it's darned near impossible to make that kind of money unless you are really selling higher end items. There are some who do it, but the average person? I doubt it.

The fees have just taken another jump up on ebay. I can't see how anyone selling smaller items can make a profit that is reasonable for the amount of time and effort it requires. If you're selling bigger stuff in a liquidator mode, I can see that its worth it. The rest of us that sell stuff out from our basment, attics, etc., it seems like it would be easier and just as effective donating the stuff and taking the tax deduction.
