Life Update 4/22

This past weekend was a pretty good one. Saturday both Hannah and I ran in a 5k in the morning. This was our 2nd 5k already this year. I'm really proud of her for keeping up this healthy initiative we're on and making sure I stay on track too. After the 5k we headed over to our local record store because it was Record Store Day. I had heard that they were going to have a Mumford and Sons live album, but they were sold out of it by the time we got there. However, I was able to pick up a Limited Re-release of Aerosmith's "Toys in the Attic" which was fantastic to listen too. Also, they had both of Mumford's studio albums so we picked up a copy of "Babel" on vinyl. Let me just tell you that listening to "Babel" on vinyl is such a better experience than listening to it on say the mp3 on my phone.

Sunday, I went down to Miami University and played in another hockey game. I got a lot more playing time this game then last time, however we got our butts kicked 5-0. Still totally worth it to spend the time playing hockey and to be on the ice with my cousin.

Today, we have tickets to the Reds game! Thanks to the generosity of a co-worker who didn't need their tickets I was able to get some pretty cool seats. Row A of the section right next to the visitors dugout! We made a sign that says "Stop the Woo" and also one that says "CHOO CHOO" with a steam engine drawn in the middle of it, so be on the lookout! I'm very excited for this game tonight.

Hope you had a good time at the game!!! We went mets game this past weekend cause we were in NYC for vacation and it's super cheap! We also have tickets for a Red Sox game in a couple of weeks. Love Fenway, hate the prices. We are at 139 days out today!! Almost to double digits!

We had an AMAZING time at the game. We had great seats and got their early enough we were able to get Todd Fraizier (our 3rd baseman) to sign something for us and then Hannah asked for a picture and we got one!

It pretty much made our night before the game even started.

It was a great game too, went to 13 innings and we won it in dramatic fashion.

I just checked out days remaining and we're down to 138 today! Slowly getting there.

We had an AMAZING time at the game. We had great seats and got their early enough we were able to get Todd Fraizier (our 3rd baseman) to sign something for us and then Hannah asked for a picture and we got one!

It pretty much made our night before the game even started.

It was a great game too, went to 13 innings and we won it in dramatic fashion.

I just checked out days remaining and we're down to 138 today! Slowly getting there.

I'm glad y'all had such a great time and that is such an awesome picture!!

I'm working on my running as well. I let it all slide by the wayside during school this year. Now I've got some work to do.

I don't know what kind of good karma I needed in order to score those seat but it sure was nice. Usually we're far away from the action too.

I miss being able to ride a bike whenever I wanted. It used to be my go to action whenever I needed stress relief. Maybe after this next paycheck and I have the trip 'payed off' I can save up for a new bike.

Right now though I have the Tough Mudder on the horizon and it's coming up QUICK! Just 6 days away from a 10 mile, 22 obstacle onslaught. Putting in some running tonight to help round out my preparations.

My boyfriend and I just started doing insanity together. It's rough! But it will be well worth it. I've always like to be able to just run for fun but I have shin/knee issues that prevent me from running

This was easily the hardest thing I've ever done. Just over 10 miles of mud so thick you couldn't run through it. So, it was more of a 10 mile sludge. I attempted every obstacle and completed 19 of the 22. It took right about 3 and a half hours and I am for sure feeling it today, but it was totally worth it!

On a sadder note

Hannah was not accepted into the UC program she applied to for school. This means that she will have to be returning to Michigan (5 hours away) for school next year. It's going to be rough but I know we can do it. The silver lining in this is that in two years she will have an associates and a bachelors degree and after her first year back at the school she will be placed in an internship for her second year which means we can find her an internship closer to me. I'm not really looking forward to 10 hours worth of driving every other weekend again, but I'll be damned if this is going to ruin us.

Now to Recover that HAPPY feeling

Tonight I get paid! This means that tonight when I get home I will be transferring over my 'excess' funds from my checking account to my savings which will put me over the top on my goal! My saving (for Disney at least) will be OVER and with 132 days to go! Now I just need to get on ordering that Photopass+ for us.

OMG, the mud pictures are great! Reminds me of the Warrior Dash I did last summer. Except that was only a 5K. And I didn't climb the 2 high walls (I'm such a chicken ). You guys Rock!

When Matt and I were dating I was going to college at Indiana State and he was in the military (bouncing between Florida and the Mediterranean). It was crazy and not-so-fun while it lasted, but sometimes I think we are better for it. You've got this.

Yea we've made it work before so we'll make it work again. It just sucks. I just got done transferring over that last bit of money this morning and yes, it feels FANTASTIC! Going to run another simulated budget again real quick and see about pre-ordering Photopass+

The walls were probably one of the hardest things for me which is why I had to get help on all of them. I just don't have the upper body strength to do them alone. But that is what Tough Mudder is all about! It's summed up very well in the Mudder Pledge:

Thanks for the words of encouragement as far as the distance is concerned. Yes, we both know it's going to suck, especially after we have lived together this last year. Once she gets out and is able to find a job though, it'll all be worth it.

I'm thinking about doing a color run this summer. It's not as tough as the tough mudder. I couldn't do that!

When my boyfriend and I first met I was finishing up my associates about two hours away from my home which was a hour away from his place. It was tough especially since the relationship was new, but we did it and are now living together

I have about 500 left to pay and I will be so excited when I'm done!

I'm in a Facebook group for Disney planning for the month of September and a Hannah just joined and then I remembered she hasn't have a clue haha

Glad to have a new subscriber so late in my journey! It's always nice to hear from other people our age who also love Disney too. I've been pretty light on the updates recently as there really hasn't been much to update so I hope I don't bore you while waiting for my trip to happen in about 4 months.

Good luck on trying to get back! It's always a challenge to myself to get the saving done so that we can go. This time was especially a challenge and I still am not sure how I pulled it if off so well.

Oh and we saw Mumford and Sons this February...very good live! Fun time : )

Nice! I'm glad to hear you had a good experience. We're both really looking forward to seeing them. So much so that we bought a couple vinyl's to play around the house while we are relaxing to help keep us amped up. This will easily be the biggest concert I've ever been to.

Thanks that means a lot. It really does suck a lot. I'm not looking forward to it at all. However, I'm hoping that that means our QUALITY time will go up even though our quantity of time will go down.
