Quick question, we are buying our AP'S when we arrive, we have our DVC reservation for our stay. Can we reserve our fast passes now or do we have to purchase our AP'S and link them to our account first?

You need to have valid tickets linked to your account in order to make FP+ reservations.

You have to purchase you AP's first. If you buy them online you should be linked to your Disney acct and you can make your FP selections immediately.

As stated previously, you must buy your AP in advance in order to have a valid ticket linked to your MDE and hence have the ability to book FP+, you can do all of this online prior to your arrival. When you arrive all you would have to do is pick-up your pre-purchased APs from a Park Ticket Window or Guest Relations. Your FP+ that you booked online will already be linked to your APs..
