I've read so much about all the attractions that have closed recently in DHS and what is slated to close and what might be taking the place of all that empty space. There are so many suggestions and ideas and options. It had me wondering why a movie like Wreck It Ralph didn't get mentioned as a theme idea? Perhaps I'm in the minority of people that loved that movie and think it has tons of timeless staying power. I mean .....video games aren't going away anytime soon right???? Wouldn't an indoor coaster (similar to Mummy in Universal or Space Mtn) with brightly colored lights so it appeared as though the rider were IN a bunch of classic and new video games be fun? Even if you were not a fan of the movie (for instance, I haven't watched the Mummy since......the first time I watched the Mummy, but never miss multiple rides on it when at Universal Studios) the ride would be a fun thrill to draw all types of crowds!?!?
Anyway, it had me thinking of other movies that might make for fun rides or attractions even tho they didn't wow at the box office. And while I realize that they probably are attempting to construct an entire themed area that all ties together.....Hollywood Studios itself TO ME (and this is merely one person's opinion) could/should/was about the movies...not a certain movie or movie franchise but rather about movie making....and the things we love about movies...about the amazing advances in animation, movie making, filming, directing. There is just SO much potential for that park to be great and I shutter to think of them slapping in a Ratatouille ride cuz it has already been done and liked. Any other movies that might make for exciting attractions while having a somewhat universal appeal or timelessness about them despite the movies success????? Anyone....Bueller.....????

On top of a ride, they could even have a Wreck It Ralph Sugar Rush game themed candy store (probably one that you stumble into after exiting the ride). I mean....kids still like candy...right??? ;)

What about a Lilo and Stitch style water ride? I mean it can only be a matter of time until they finally get the Stitch ride out of MK (right....I hope). It could be more of a Magic Carpet, One Fish Two Fish style water ride vs. Splash Mtn if the space isn't ample enough. Although Splash Mtn. packs in the crowds, so not exactly a bad consideration. Stitch seems to make a comeback every few years even though the movies are quite old.
What about another good classic carousel too? With old and new characters and movie soundtracks playing in the background.
I do like the idea of the Star Wars expansion as that seems to have timeless and multi generational appeal. But DHS is in need of more. I love the feel of that park, the vibe when I'm there but so much of it has been empty lifeless space for years. I do have faith they will bring back the animation academy too. It was such a neat attraction for all ages.

The Mummy is a fantastic example of what the new DHS would be IMO. It's PoC meats SM and any theme park should be trying to match the height of both thrill and theming that The Mummy ride has reached.

Disney already has a plan for DHS - that's why they're closing so many attractions.

I'm sure they do. We're just having fun letting our imaginations run wild!

I would love something Wreck It Ralph themed - such a great movie!!!

Also, I 1,000,000% approve of all Star Wars ideas/lands to be built, as well as expanding Pixar Place.

I have always thought there should be a Monsters Inc ride built upon the idea of all of those doors they "ride" at the end...I think that would make such a fun ride!

I totally agree it should be like riding the movies, that's what we love about the ToT immersive experience. But it sounds like they may scrap the whole Hollywood name thing anyway. It doesn't need rebranding, it needs more attractions. I love HS. I go all the time, and I'm sad that this stupid bug is keeping me home from my last fireworks blitzes. Go away virus!! Definitely dedicate more space to Star Wars obviously and while they are at it, how about NOT empty out a popular ride into a very busy tiny gift store...(emphasis on tiny, not really upset at landing in a gift shop, just can't get out). We loved SWW, probably the highlight of the year. Frozen Summer has been alright too, and without either of those events, I think it will be noticeable. Wreck it Ralph gets a decent size cameo on the Celebrate show, so maybe it's on the radar. Who doesn't love Monsters....
