Making and ADR through DVC question

After reading the huge thread on the dining board about nightmare waits to get through to a CM to make an ADR, I started wondering if it would be faster to just call member services and have them do it for me.

I have never made our ADRs through member services - always called the main dining line before.

Anyone have any experience with member services and ADRs? Is it faster, slower, about the same as far as waiting on hold time?
 
Given the problems booking through Disney dining at the moment, I think I would call MS for ADRs. In the past, I made almost all of my ADRs through Disney dining because they are open longer hours. I could call in the late evening and get through fairly quickly. I'm reading that that is no longer the case thanks to the new dining reservation system.

I made an ADR through MS a couple of weeks ago because I had called about something else and figured why not book my last ADR at the same time. It went very smoothly but then again, based on my travel dates they would have been using the old dining reservation.

I made our reservations through MS for the first time last month (for our trip in May) - I wasn't on the phone right at 9, but was able to get right through with minimal wait time, and the cast member was very helpful....I would go through MS again next time! :thumbsup2
