Making an ADR for two groups to eat together

We're going in September with my mom, sister, and BIL. We are staying at different resorts. When it comes to making ADR's, can one of us make a reservation for the whole group of 7? Or do we have to each make our own? We're only planning maybe 2 or 3 meals together, but I don't want to have to sit at separate tables when we do.
