Hi everyone! I plan to make all of ourADRs 180 days out so we can get everything we want and then if plans change I will cancel them in advance. Here is the issue.......We will be staying on property with the dinning plan but chances are we will NOT have that reservation made yet at the 180 days mark. Will that affect any ADRs? Thanks!

You can make your dining reservations 180 days out and then link them to your resort reservation on the My Disney Experience on Disney.com. You don't have to link them if you don't want to. It just makes it easier to see them all in one place.

For some you need to leave a cc and it will be charged a fee if you miss your reservation without canceling 24 hours in advances.

I don't believe so but some dining locations require a credit card to hold the reservation, such as character dining .They will not charge you unless you don't show up or you don't cancel within 24 hours.

If you do not have a room reservation for the time you are there you will only be able to make the reservations one day at a time. Only people that have a resort reservation can book 180 plus 10. I was waiting to see if free dining was coming out before booking my resort reservation. When I realized that I was going to miss my 180 day window I made a room only reservation at a Value just to make my ADR's. When the deal I wanted was announced I switched the room only to a different resort package.

The room only reservation requires a one night deposit instead of the package $200.00 deposit.

When I recently made all my ADR's, all of them required a CC. You have to cancel 24 hours before your ADR or you are charged on your CC.

CRT is one of the ADRs we wanted. So I need to have my dining plan purchased before I make the ADR so I don't have to pay upfront?

CRT and the 3 dinner shows (Hoop De Doo, Spirit of Aloha luau, Mickey's Barbecue) all require full payment at the time you make the reservation unless you have the dining plan. If you have the dining plan you will still have to give credit card info because of the no show guarantee, but nothing will be charged unless you fail to cancel, then don't show up for the res.

Correct. If you don't have the dining plan you have to pay upfront. Once you get to the restaurant your cc will be refunded.

I'm being dense..... :duck:cause I don't quite get it:

If we do our dining reservations online -- for Hoop Dee Doo or Cinderella's -- we input the credit-card info online?

(Or do we need to phone, in order to give them the credit card info?)

If we can use the credit card online, is there some way to plug that info into our account, in advance, so we don't have to waste precious seconds plugging in numbers when we're trying to score hard-to-get ressies?

thanks!!

Yes, you can enter your credit card info online ahead of time. I did it this morning (at 4:45 AM while I was waiting for 5:00 to roll around). After you log into My Disney Experience, go to your profile. It will allow you to add the credit card info there and save it. After I did that, when I made my ADRs this morning, it automatically asked me, "Do you want to charge XXXX card XXXX for this?" and you click yes and go on. I booked HDD this morning, paid in full, and BOG with the credit card guarantee. Also, if you have all your family members entered into your profile, that helps too - you just click the ones that are going and it knows which are 10+ and which are 3-9.

It took me less than 20 minutes to get all the ADRs I wanted.

Good luck!

Oh, lawrd, I totally cannot find the place to input the credit card details in advance! I see nothing under my account or "Update Profile" or "My Reservations."

Where do you input the credit card in advance??

Sorry to be so lame!:joker:

Are you on the Disney World website?

I find my cc info at disneyworld.com > My Disney Experience > My Profile > Payment Method

In payment method you can store cc info.

Yup, nope . . . I am on the Walt Disney World website, yes.

If I go to EITHER MyDisneyExperience.com or to Disney.com (and click thru via Parks & Travel), it automatically forwards me to the "Vacation Planning Center" here:
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/

And then I can edit my profile, and add reservations. But there is definitely not any "payment method" option under the profile. I've checked a zillion times. (There is no "My Profile" button, either.) They have my mailing and billing address and etc etc etc . . . but definitely no spot to input a credit card.

Bizarre!

When you go to MyDisneyExperience.com, are you forwarded to the disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan page? Or somewhere else?

I know that there are a few layers/generations of Disney websites that are accessible thru various, like, loopholes ... Maybe I'm stuck in the wrong incarnation of the website, somehow, due to my browser or something.

Yes, when I click on MDE on the main disneyworld.com page, it takes me to the "/plan" page.

On that page it says:
My Plans
My Reservations
Disney Photopass
My Profile

When I click on My Profile it says:
About Me
Family and Friends
Payment Method
Contact Information
Account Settings

It sounds like we are seeing different things. It is frustrating :(, the new website definitely has some kinks to be worked out.

Yes, agree with ses1230. If I go to the main disneyworld.com page, then on the far right, I click "My Disney Experience" toward the bottom of the list is "My Profile" -- or if you're already logged in, it's on the left of the box under your Mickey face. Then I click that, and I get exactly what is listed above:
About Me
Family & Friends
Payment Method
Contact Information... etc

Payment Method is where I entered my credit card info.

Thank you so, so much for taking the time to explain to me what you're seeing!!

Good deed for the day. :)

But, yeah, I'm seeing something different. Mine says:
My Disney Vacation
My Reservations
Passholders
Free Vacation Planning DVD

. . . .and at far left there's a button that says "update profile" -- but nothing about Payment Methods can be found among the various updating choices.

Also, if I go to just Disney.com, MDE is not among the choices. It does not appear on the page at all. How bizarre is all this?

Sigh. I've literally spent about two hours today trying to find a way to add a "payment method" so I can SPEND MONEY AT DISNEY, and their website mess has made it impossible. How crrrrazy is that?
