Making ADR Thread - hold times, IT vents, and general whine!

Why do they need a reservation number on the new system? They shouldn't need one for anything except 90 + 10.
 
Unfortunately today they are taking reservations for May 30th. I was in the EXACT same situation yesterday. I called and they told me I was one day early :hug:

EDIT: On hold 54 minutes and counting now

They are wrong, wrong, wrong! I arrive on May 31st and all of my reservations up until June 8 have been made!
 
Are you freak'n kidding me...I waited on the phone for 1 hour 30 minutes on hold and the agent told me my 90 days doesn't start till tomorrow????? What the heck?? My trip starts May 31st. She said they are only taking ressies for vacations starting May 30th??

I am sooo confused...can anyone help! Should I call back?

The CM was right. Our trip also starts on the 31st and we were told that we could start calling on March 2, which is tomorrow (Monday).

When I first made my reservation, That CM told me that w/ 90+10 I could start on February 22. When I called to make my Chef Mickey reservation, the dining person straightened it out. Apparently there are still CMs who don't know what they're talking about.
 

Ok....I am finally done with my ADRs after working all day on them.... :banana:

First, I am a DVC member and I am renting developer points from another member. Well, for some reason it has taken an act of congress to get my reservation number...:confused3 They do the developer points in a "snail" mail system... Anyway, we FINALLY got the reservation number!!:worship:

Second, I was told 3 different stories from ADR MS people... One said, I didn't need my reservation number to make ADRs, Second CM said, I can make your ADRs without your reservation number, but I can't make them until tomorrow....Then, the last CM was able to make ALL my ADRs with my reservation number and check in date..... Oh - and I was told they are NOT booking the Fantasmic Dinner Package right now....:confused3


This is the first time I have ever had ADR problems!! I wish everyone good luck with ADRs!!!!!:flower3:
 
I just hung up the phone for a ressie to Chef Mickey's for a party of 10 for June 7. The CM kept telling me I couldn't do it till tomorrow cause my arrival is May 31. I informed her that you can still do it for CM's and got it (for after 8 but better than nadda.) She and another CM told me all my others can be booked tommorrow.
 
whenever Disney tells us they are "enhancing" anything, watch out!! In laymans terms that means Disney has taken something that was working just fine and decided to screw it up for everyone. It's unbelievable a company this large makes so many bonehead decisions.:confused3

It's scary isn't it when you have to inform the CM's on what they are supposed to do. I know they have lots of people in different locations, but really, its not a difficult concept. I will be calling at 7 a.m. tomorrow as well. Good luck on getting what you want. I'm praying for a snow day here in Atlanta so I don't have to worry about getting the kids to school! :)

Every time I have selected the "A la Carte" department I've been directed to the wrong person. I'm pretty sure I'm in the right line now...i've been on hold 2 hours and 22 minutes.

I've invested too much time and money to hang up now, plus I cant call tomorrow at 7am as I have to get ready for work.

The only ADRs I'm particularly concerned about are Ohana, California Grill & Le Cellier. I'm pretty sure I wont have issues getting Kona, Liberty Tree and Tokyo Dining.

There were 7 different threads on making ADRs today. They were all merged into this one and the title was updated.

Good luck everyone, system conversions are always painful. :sick:
 
I thought our 90 day was tomorrow too (May 31st) but AKL IPO said that they were making them today for us.
 
I know there are a million threads on this topic but I just had to emphasize how ridiculous this is! Disney would be better to put a HOLD on ALL dining reservations until the new system is fully implemented than to do this!

My phone bill will be $50 for 6 dining reservations! Right now I am VERY VERY thankful that I booked Club Level for my September trip so that Itinerary Planning can deal with this ADR madness!
 
Okay, so I've been anxiously awaiting the 2nd (tomorrow) to get here so that I could make my ADRs. My trip starts on May 31. After hearing that some of you with the same starting date as me have been able to do them already I decided to go ahead and call.

I was put on hold immediately so I just hit the speakerphone button and played on the DisBoards. One hour later a CM answered. I could barely understand him but he got all my information and proceeded to start with my first ressie on June 1. He sat there forever and I asked him if he was still on the line. he said he was having problems and he needed to put me on hold to speak with someone. Finally he came back on and said that the system wouldn't even pull up any restaurants because I was a day early.

It really ticks me off that some people are allowed to make their ADRs outside of the 90 days and some aren't! The way they are doing things is not fair and seems to waste alot of people's time and energy. I cannot wait for 4 hours to make ADRs tomorrow. I would run out of cell phone minutes!!!
 
I thought our 90 day was tomorrow too (May 31st) but AKL IPO said that they were making them today for us.

See...here's another example of the unfairness!!! What exactly is the AKL IPO anyway?

On hold for 2 hours and 40 minutes! By the time I finished making my ADRs it was 3 hours. As frustrating as that is, it is merely the tip of the iceberg!

I called 5 times this morning. Every time I selected the option of "Reservations AFTER May 26th through to June 9th"

EVERY time I was redirected because I was in the "wrong department"

How pray tell am I in the wrong department if my dates are May 30th - June 3rd??

Im my opinion, Disney would have been better to put ALL ADRS after May 26th ON HOLD until they FULLY integrated the new system rather than keeping their guests ON HOLD!

Furthermore, why didn't they secure a toll free number when they realized that wait times were becoming astronomical? They secured a toll free number for the Garden Grill lunch ADR issues! (When GG stopped serving lunch but guests already has ADRs they were provided with a toll free number to amend their ADR bookings)

Yes! Thank god after that insane wait I got everything I wanted.

What number are you calling? I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes and I call all the time.
Please let me know. Maybe its a different number.
