Making ADR before booking??

Sorry if this has been asked before - are you able to make ADR's before you book your trip? We will be booking very soon (like next week probably) but I was wondering if we could try and start calling in some ADR's. Has anyone tried this? Are you allowed to?

As long as you are within 180 days of your trip, you can start booking ADRs. If you're staying onsite and want to take advantage of 180 plus 10 booking, then you need to book your room first.
