Making a wedding Bouquet

OK, my sister is getting married (again..) and she was talking about getting silk flowers this time since she real the first time. I said I could probably make them but she said she was having the groom's mom do it since she was experienced and i have never done them before (I'm rather creative if I do say so myself )

Anyways, she comes up with me doing them now and for them to be their wedding gift from my family to them. She wants 3 bouquets (brides, MOH, toss) and i think 2 boutenierres. She doesn't seem to care about the kind of flowers just the colors white and green (I was thinking white roses and Ivy )

I"ve never done this before like I said so i am unsure on cost of this sort of thing. We really don't have the money for this, I'm also Maid of Honor and have to come up with money for a dress. But I will do it...(Its been a horrible year in the auto industry so we aren't exactly doing well with money on top of that our mortgage went up almost $100 because escrow lowballed the property tax by almost double...)

Anyone sure on what these would cost, she does want gigantic bouquets and she wants them simple. ANy help would be appreciated. Oh and I figured white roses and ivy would be the easiest to find. ANy other reccomendations would be appreciated on the flower front. She doesn't want callas though since thy were my wedding flower lol

I would check Michaels wedding area. They should have premade white rose bouquets. You can use a coupon to get the cost down. Then you would only have to add some "green" to make moh and toss bouquet. You may even be able to use two of these as a base for the bridal bouquet as well and then just add your greenery.

You will also need floral tape and floral wire.

When is the wedding? If it is soon, start collecting coupons from friends and relatives, take dh or kids with you to double buy in one trip.

I did my wedding bouquets, boutineeres, corsages. I used big white silk peonies, 3 in mine, with red rosebuds. MOH had 3 red roses with peony buds. Remember the rule of 3's for the bouquets. 3 large flowers, buds and then greens. Mine was cresent shaped, MOH was round.

The boutineeres were rosebuds, some greens, and baby's breath. Wrapped with floral tape. I also did corsages for the MOB, and DH aunt using full roses with the same baby's breath and greens.

I have a discount silk floral distributor close to me, and they sell to the public, that was my supplier. Mike's floral dept might be able to help with ideas, library book and online for pics of shape.

It's an awesome gift, and something she can keep and put in a shadow box.

You can go to Hobby Lobby also. They have their floral stems at 50% off this week. So that should help a lot.
