Making a touring plan/itinerary

How do you know which rides to do first, second....? I haven't been on a big WDW trip since '04 and things are way different. I have DS8 and DD 5.5. I have been looking on touring plans and I purchased the easyWDW book, but its still so overwhelming. I don't need my trip to be planned down to the minute, but I would like something to give an idea of where we should kinda go next. Suggestions?
Also, regarding FP+ if not everyone in your party is planning on a specific ride, do you have to book FP+ for everyone regardless?

yes, easywdw.com is the best way to start. Pick which parks which days is the first step. Get fp+ for 3 top attractions and start from there. MK: choose from these-Peter Pan, 7 dwarves, Space, Splash, Thunder. AK: choose from EE, Kali, Dinosaur, Safari. DHS: TSMM, Star Tours, Tot, RRC, EPC: Soarin, test track (do one at rope drop, 1 with a fp+)
