making a reservation for someone else

I am going to lose some points by the end of July. I have friends who are DVC members who can use the points. I am not able to transfer them all, but I have enough to make a reservation for them. We are not exchanging money or anything, I'm just giving the points away to them. Do I just log onto the dvc member website and use their names as the guests and make the reservation and just give them the confirmation when I'm done? Is there anything else to it? We're talking a 1 night 15 point rental.

Yes. It is very easy. You will need the names and addresses of each guest. I booked a trip for my brother with my points this year. I even added the dining plan and just used their credit card to pay for it.

It really is easy. I did this for a key volunteer who went above and beyond for me. He and his wife we're going to be in Florida, so I booked four nights for them under their name with my points. Worked perfectly.

I can't imagine there would be any problem. Just make sure you have their names and address for the reservation. Sounds like they'll already be in Fl, so you won't need to make a Magical Express reservation for them (though you could).
