Making a Point and Cash Ressie

I noticed on another thread that someone made a point/cash ressie.

Is that very difficult? If I'm looking to save points one year.... Is it easy to call MS and book a set of nights and then add a cash ressie to lengthen my stay?

When reserving a stay on points at a DVC resort, you can inquire about adding on a cash discounted room thru MS. It will be 25% off rack rate and must be occupied by the DVC member. Subject to availability of course.

There are some category of villas that are not available on cash - such as the standard view at BW or the BCV dedicated two bedroom villa with two queens in the second bedroom. If you book one of these on points, and then try to book using cash, you might not be able to do it and would have to move. Also if you book through CRO and not MS for the cash nights, you may have to move. You will have to check out and check in again.

Because I called close to trip ( 2 months ? ) I was only able to get a 1 bedroom by booking points - cash - points stay . Easy enough to do with the help of MS !
