We are almost at that 100 day mark. I am getting very excited and want to make a clever countdown for the kids. I snagged a bunch of those cute little mickey paint swatches from Home Depot. Just dont know what to do with them.

Anyone have any clever ideas for me???

We made a 30 day paper chain and every night the kids got to rip off one link.

I printed out strips of paper (I fit 6 strips on one piece of paper so it wasn't too bad) using free clipart off the web and then we all cut out the strips and glued them together to make the chain. You can also make a chain out of construction paper and put Disney stickers on each link or have the kids decorate it however they'd like.

We hung it on the refrigerator with a magnet on each end and it was fun to watch it get shorter.

I don't know how clever this is, but this is what we're planning on doing this weekend...

We also got a bunch of the HD mickey squares. We're going to get a piece of poster board and divide it into a calendar-type grid and put the number of days left on it. Kids are going to decorate the poster with Disney stickers and such...

Then I'm going to have them tape one of the mickeys onto each day that passes so it will still show how many days are left! We have 56 days to go :cool1: so I don't know how that would work with 100 days...I'm not even sure how we'll fit the 50 or so squares on, but I've been waiting to start this for the kids since we were at about 180 days out...:goodvibes Hope you get some more good ideas!!!!!

thank you for the ideas!
Its kinda chilly out, so this will make a perfect project today!
I think I am going to need more mickey things from HD. I grabbed a handful, but felt like a jerk for taking so many:lmao:

A fun spin on the paper chains you can make them with those candy dots (you know they are pink, yellow and blue dots of candy on paper). Every morning the kids an eat a sheet of the candy. We do this now and sometimes for b-days, holidays, etc.

I like the candy dot idea! I have a ways to go but that sounds fun! I don't start til we are 30 days out.:thumbsup2

That's when we start the candy too, in 9 days!!!
We start counting down though at 100 days. I send a note in their lunch box with a little poem (like today would be "39, it's almost time"). My middle daughter gets to the lunchroom before my youngest so the lunch monitor (sweet lady), always gets told by DD9 so she plays dumb for DD6. She said for all the counting down she should be able to go with us!
We also usually have Mickey and Cinderella waffles for dinner on every whole number day, (100, 90, etc), but missed it last night (company over, we ordered pizza) so we will do it tonight instead.
