:earsboy: :mickeyjum So I have the shirts and the fabric paint - but now I'm stumped.

Anyone have any good ideas for decorating etc? I would like a good Mickey and Minnie outline I can follow for the shirts, or any other great ideas !

I think michaels had stamps with the characters. those would be cute . or maybe do each one diffrent say Pluto shirt with dog foot prints all over it saying "Pluto walks ALL over me "Not really even put pluto on it just the suggestion of it is the cute part. maybe for the kids turn them into princess shirts if thats what they like.. "searching for Cinderella's glass slipper" with a mouse on it .i would go with what my child fav characters are. Asks the kids they usualy have good ideas when comming up with things. if I think of more I will post again. Have a great trip!

I like to go and buy a small amount of fabric and cut out characters. Attach it to the shirt with fusable web or fabric glue. Then use the fabric paint to high light certain areas and trace around the outline. Way cute and super easy.

Just wanted to direct you to the Creative DISigns boards as well. They have TONS of great ideas....I think you'll be impressed!!

Try the DISign Board here- they are great!! Down the end of the forum

These shirts are not difficult at all to make. First I made Mickey head templates in three sizes (one for an adult shirt, one for my DS's shirt, and one for my DD). Then I bought different fabrics some are Disney some are not. I ironed them onto some fusable web, and then I traced the templates on the paper side of the webbing. After I cut them out, I ironed them onto the shirts. Finally I outlined the Mickey head with fabric paint. Like I said they are not hard to make. My kids loved picking out different fabrics to put on their shirts.

I made the Mickey tie dye ones last year and got tons of compliments in the parks. They were pretty easy. Of course, I found the directions on the Dis creative board.

My whole family (even my non-crafty SIL!) made them as a preWDW event. They were pretty easy to do.

It was great to be able to keep track of 10 people, though a couple times I almost nabbed an extra kid because they were in tie dye too. :rotfl: They made it very easy to find our pictures on the Test Track display, too.

We got a TON of comments on them. If you do them, seriously, print out some slips of paper with the directions website because you'll be asked ALOT.

Mickey Tie Dye directions

Wow, your tie dye shirts look great! I made them last year, too. You are right, it was easy to pick out our picture on the ride photos, and people could definitely tell we were together. :hippie:

I love the ones you did, too theAdkins'. Great idea and simple to make. I am really into matching shirts now, and your procedure could be easily adapted for other vacation themes. They look great on white shirts, too, which makes them easy to "match" the color for family shirts. :grouphug:

Great job ladies! I love the DISigns threads, too! :cheer2:

I was just looking at your pictures and my DS5 saked if he could buy the rainbow one, so I guess that means he likes them. :confused3 :lovestruc

I found that fabric at our local Walmart for $3.00 a yard. It does not take much fabric to make the shirts. I bought 1 yard of the red with the small Mickey heads on it, and I made four shirts and have quite a bit left over. On our last trip I made the sunburst Mickey shirts. I just uploaded a picture to my photobucket account of my kid's in their shirts from last year. Here is the link again

I have great Disney shirts, but we are doing Universal and Sea World this year. Anyone think of an 'easy' design like the mickey head that I can do to represent Universal on shirts? I love your shirts, TheAdkins'. I could probably do a pretty easy killer whale jumping for Sea World shirts. Ideas, crafters?
