I just make a reservation for a Fort Wilderness Cabin in early February of next year. I was told that I would not have to pay the new $95 fee, nor would anyone else on reservations made before January First.

Maybe this is a good time to reserve Disney Collection rooms, since the points go up most years and we can avoid the $95 fee for the last time. :thumbsup2

We want to stay at FW campgrounds next December, using points, so I can't make my reservation until Jan. I hate this fee, this was one of the places that we love, and were thrilled that DVC would allow us to use points there. This fee, now, makes me upset.

Please write DVC and let them know your displeasure about this new fee!

I know some people dont think it will help, but it definitely cannot hurt.

Many of us wrote to DCL when they tried to tack on a $100 per person fee to cross the Panama Canal on our Aug 2008 cruise and some even contacted the media. Although this was covered in their legal language, many questioned the validity of the fee and how it was calculated. I even received a revised confirmation reflecting the $400 upcharge but then they reversed their decision and did not charge us 1cent extra:banana:

If I wanted to own a traditional timeshare, I would have purchased one. I purchased DVC because it suited us best, it definitely was not the cheapest and all these changes have me reconsidering my ownership interest.

Can someone please explain what this $95 fee is? Search just gives directions for the I-95 etc!

I own a traditional timeshare and exchange through RCI and they nickle and dime you to death with exchange fees, but I got such a great deal on my units that I put up with it. I hope this isn't going to be a trend with DVC.

I don't even understand the need for the fee. I can understand the exchange fee for Concierge Collection and II exchanges. I assume those are fees that Disney has to pay. Is it really necessary to charge a fee for making a reservation on Disney property?

Who should we send our complaints to? Is there a specific name and address??
