Could someone explain to me how to wear eye liner? I don't have a clue as to how to apply this stuff and make it look nice. I just bought two eye liner "pens" from Avon.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

there are a few ways... here's what I think works best

draw a thin line on your eyelid- close to your lashes. you want a lighter line or no line on the inside of your eye (closest to your nose).smudge line so it doesn't look like a line. The color should always be heaviest on the outside of your eyelid (from the middle to your ear). Basically you want a fade on your eye, lightest near your eye, heaviest on near your ear.

You can also add some liner to the bottom of your eye. Line right under your bottom lashes VERY SLIGHTLY and smudge some more, VERY SLIGHTLY.

If all else fails, look online for some eye looks that you like. Practice makes perfect.

i'm a makeup who...uhh..junkie...and have never figured out how to apply eyeliner.

plus, I personaly think it looks 'odd' on me anyway.

If I do attempt it...I use eyeshadow wet...less harsh then with a pencil.

As close to your lashes as you can get it without being on the inside rim of your eye. You don't have to do it in one line. You can put the liner on in smaller sections - kind of like dashes. Just make sure they connect and they're the same thickness. Smudge it after applying to make it look less harsh.

I only have one pencil because I prefer to use a slanted brush and a dark eyeshadow instead. Like the other poster said, start at the outter corner, begin a thicker line and end up very thin towards the nose (if you even go that far, I usually don't).

Sometimes, I like to do a thin line on the bottom rim...like actually above, not below the lashes. You shouldn't go too dark here or you'll look scary. I usually save this method for nighttime events. It can look really great though!

If all else fails, go to your favorite makeup counter (I loooove MAC) and have them give you a makeover. Ask them for a tutorial as they go.

I only wear eyeliner on the bottom part right above the lashes. I could never figure out how to do the top lid and don't even get me started on how I have no clue how to apply eyeshadow!

On the top lids, it widens your eyes. On the lower lashes, it makes your eyes look smaller. Just an FYI. I've been doing it so long that I don't even think about it anymore.

I use it to fill in between my lashes - that and a light coat of mascara and my eyes look awake!
