I finally bought a new pair of jeans and got my hair cut - LOL! Now I would like some tips from you mascara and lip gloss only wearing gals. I won't do full on makeup but thought a little mascara and lip gloss wouldn't hurt. What are your favorites?

L'Oreal has some wonderful mascaras. And any of the bonne bell lip glosses should do fine and they taste good too.

Any of the free stuff I get when I buy my Lancome moisturizer. ;)

I personally like Maybeline mascaras. Just some of the best going on and staying power in general. And a make up artist I know actually only uses that and refuses to spend much more than $5 on any mascara. Personally though, I prefer wearing just eyeliner over mascara... but I have long lashes.

I also love lipglosses. I like a lot of Cover Girls colors and the feel of it. Not goopey feeling like many others I've tried.

I'm a makeup fiend, and have tried drug-store mascaras to upper-end ones like She Umera, MAC and Bobbi Brown; but my all-time favorite is L'Oreal Voluminous Waterproof. It makes my lashes so long and thick and stays all-day. It's a little hard to get off because it is WP, but they have a non-WP formula, too. I LOVE this stuff!

If you want a clear gloss--I love Bonne Belle, too, because they have such neat flavors and make your lips very soft! Revlon has some cute sheer glosses that come in a little squeeze tube (I forget the name!). They're not too sticky, have some flavor and give you a nice hint of color for not a lot of money. :)

Good for you! It's nice to do a few little things to make us feel better. I don't really wear mascara so can't help with that. But, I do have two lip glosses that I like. One's Cover Girl and one's Revlon. I never know what color to pick out for myself, so this last time I just went with somthing pink to make myself feel a little more girly. I have two boys so they suck the girliness right out of me. LOL! Anyway, the one I got is a little sparkly and I really like it, but I could see how that's not for everyone. If you're not sure about color, you could try something cheap just to find the right color and then match it up to one of the "nicer" brands (maybelline, CG, revlon).

I'm more of a "color stay lip color" and eyeliner kinda Mom, myself, but a new pair of jean and a hair cut are always good!!

Myself, I really like the Cover Girl line of stay on lip colors, espcecially the mauve. Plus, since I learned the trick of using a basic chapstick to remove it...I love it even more!

My current favorite eye pencil color is the coppery topaz color Almay suggests for blue eyes. I sometime do a small trick of dabbing a tiny bit of eye shadow over the eye pencil to boost it's staying power.

I like Almay mascaras and Revlon lip glosses. For the expensive brands, the lip glosses taste and smell better but otherwise the mascara and lip gloss are really not different from drugstore brands. I have a great liquid blush by Almay--Nearly Naked. It looks very natural.

I notice that powder makeup (eyeshadow, blush, face powder) is generally better with the more expensive brands, and it's great to be able try on foundation and concealer before you buy--can't do that in any drugstores around here. I love my MAC and Urban Decay eyeshadows--UB's makeup is generally really glittery and glam, though.

I went out and bought some wonderful MAC lipgloss. It's not cheap but I feel like a princess every time I use it. I have two light colors. As for Mascarra I recently purchased some lash lengthening mascarra from Lorael and I love it. I don't remember the exact name but look for lash lengthening. I always use waterproof but be sure and get a good remover if you do that.
