We're renting a BWV studio for five days in late August, and we decided to get a room for 2 more nights. We're planning on going to MK for the last day and a half after we check out of BWV. DW and I really want to stay at the WL, but we can't justify an extra $330 (w/ AAA discount) to do so, especially when we won't be spending that much time at the resort since it's only 2 nights and one day. The money is in the budget, so that's not a worry, but we could stick that money into savings towards a possible DVC purchase next winter. We've got the POP reserved for the two nights now. We've never stayed at either place.

Can anyone sell me on the benefits of the POP in such a situation (other than the $330)?

Is it just you and your husband or do you have kids?

If you have kids, I'd NOT recommend Pop.

If it's just you and DH and/or you have very, very, very patient kids, you'll probably be able to "tolerate" Pop a bit better...

Honestly, it IS worth $330 dollars to stay at WL over Pop. You couldn't pay ME to stay at the Pop again...

I like Pop. We have stayed there a few times. I would stay there to save money if I had to.

I would save the money and stay at Pop. If you are only using it for sleeping, then save the money. Especially if you are planning to buy DVC next year. You can always stay at the VWL later on.

Read my review about Pop in my siggie...we loved it there! I say go for it!

Thanks, everyone! Lollipop's Mom - Actually I have read your review, and it's what made us choose the POP over the All-Stars for those last few nights.

Pop is fine!

now it is not WL - you won't get that lovely lobby - or a theme swimming pool.

what you get is a nice room for a reasonable cost.

besides I love Pop pools - the getting in and out on all 4 sides - really appeals to me. makes it much easier to get in and out of this pool.

we stayed at POP for 3 days, then SSR last August with kids--kids LOVED it. I thought POP was fine and fun--only complaint was thin walls and I could hear showers from neighbors at 6 AM.
IF you have concerns--why not get a moderate---MUCH cheaper than WL and you get a few more amenities. Either POP for 2 nights or a moderate would be fine. Have fun! Elaine

I would! My kids love POP.:hippie: My DH not so much...but especially for a couple of days, I think you'll not only tolerate it, but probably have a great time. Be sure to take time to walk around, head over to the 50's section(you can climb the staircase to the 4th floor) to see Illuminations at night, and check out all the little fun touches like the twist and the hustle and chalk art and hoola-hoops.
