Good morning everyone!:surfweb:
I am looking for good ideas of things I can make for my two kids for our trip to WDW in June! My kids are DD9 and DS3. I am already having shirts made, but thought about treat bags, cards, etc. I know there are thousands of you that have done wonderful things!:thumbsup2 This would be a great thread to keep going for anyone taking their family to WDW that wants to make the trip extra special!;) Thanks so much in advance for all the wonderful ideas you send my way!:cool1:

a few things i did was

i found backpacks at the $ store & had disigns make a iron & i filled it with gum, glow bracelets, fun pens for autograph books, etc

for the boy i got him some fun pirate stuff

I ordered stuff from deadmentellnotales & we were gonna do our own "treasure hunt" on the beach, but we didnt have time

i had letters from princesses/mickey welcomeing the kids to wdw

Dd was 6yo for our December trip and had an excellent time decorating envelopes for our Mousekeeping tips. She wrote "thank you" in multiple languages and then decorated each envelope w/ Disney stickers.

In addition to all of the above, I did pillowcases---bought brightly coloured ones and personalized them with iron-ons of kids names and characters.

I just ordered my dd and 2 dses the personalized messenger from disneystore for their carryon bags. I am planning on filling them with things for the plane ride. I have found coloring books, markers, crayons, story books all at the dollar store. I got a learning to draw fairies kit and a couple POTC art sets from Target. I am doing a Tink theme for dd and POTC for the boys.
I am also making gift bags to send before we arrive. I am putting t shirts, swimsuits, trading pins and lanyards, autograph books and pens. I will make cute little welcome to WDW tags for them.

Someone over on the Disign board makes envelopes for disney money. I am so excited about that. We are taking my inlaws so I am having them done so I can surprise them with Disney dollars. So happy about it!

I am making gift bags for my children also DW. I was planning on giving it to them just before we leave home that morning, however, I would love for them to be able to get them when we get there. How are you doing this? Will it be waiting in the room or do you have to pick it up somewhere? How much is it going to cost you? (if you don't mind me asking)

Thanks

those necklaces are simply amazing..we're they purchased somewhere or homemade??

how?? I'd love to have or make a few

Love your Mickey ears - they turned out beautiful! I would think you'd have had A LOT of people asking where you purchased them, because I know I've been looking for rhinestone Mickey ears for years.

Cute necklaces too!

Thanks so much for sharing!

I will ship via UPS to make sure it is there before we arrive. I don't think it will cost too much, we aren't going until Sept.
I haven't figured out I will get in the room without the kids noticing. The resort will not deliver and set it up in your room but they will hold the box and give it to you at check in. I have read on this board that people on their way to the parks will "forget" something in the room and go back and set up their bags/baskets so that when they return the kids will find them. I'll probably do something like that since I do want it to be a surpise.

Myprincessgirlisa- Those rhinestone ears are beautiful, I don't dare show the picture to dd she'll want me to make some for her. I love the Mickey necklaces too. You should start your own business making personalized disney stuff you do lovely work.

i made the necklaces

i found "beads" at michaels crafts & just strung them on beading thread & added a clasp it was SOOOO easy!!!!

the ears DID get TONS of attention at the parks
Im trying to convince myself to make them & sell them, but i havent been successful yet..in the back of my head i think no one would buy them?? ya know??

Im glad you all like them & i hope i inspired you guys!!!!
have fun & be creative!!!

I actually commandeered dd's (6yo) backpack for school and packed it up w/ all the goodies for the plane, etc. I didn't let her look inside her backpack until we were ON the plane! I did the same for ds, but he is 2yo and didn't carry his backpack himself anyway!

I did hold back w/ some stuff that was packed in my carry on or checked baggage... a bunch of stuffed characters I picked up at TDS (they appeared throughout our stay), Mickey Mouse bubbles, line amusements (picture finds, etc), and dd's Cinderella dress.

Dd and I are traveling to WDW in July..just the two of us.. and I've thought about using one of the companies that will place gifts in rooms...but I haven't decided yet.
