My 3 year old was granted his wish of Disneyland by Train by the Make A Wish Foundation. He is just over a year out of treatment for bone cancer. He lost part of his leg...
Anyway... We are staying at the Paradise Pier, Character Breakfast with Goofy, and preferred seating for a Fantasmic show.
Any hints or handy tips for a 4-day trip with a 3 year old??
Also, does anyone know how the Wish kids are made "special" at the park?
We have been given special badges to wear with the Genie from Aladdin on them..........
Thanks!

ps: We are leaving home July 8th and returning the 14th....:cool1:

I would suggest contacting Make a Wish sooner rather than later. They can get the process going and just wait for the go ahead from the docs for the Wish to be granted..... I will return with a full scoop for everyone!!!
We live in Redding, and our son was treated at UC Davis Childrens Hospital in Sacramento...

I'm so excited for you! Your first Disney trip is so magical, so I do hope you consider writing a trip report (TR) of your experience. I'd love to hear about it!

We went for our first trip last fall, with DS6 and DS3. I was a bit worried that there wouldn't be much for DS3 to do, but he was able to do much more than I realized! All the Fantasyland rides are geared toward younger kids, and he loved them. Both boys especially loved Peter Pan (flying in the stars!), so get to the park early and ride that one first!

He also loved Buzz Lightyear, Autopia (he can drive!), and we definitely plan to do Nemo.

He loved everything about ToonTown, loved looking through the houses, especially Donald's boat (which has no line to meet a character usually) and running up and down the stairs at Chip and Dale's house. He also loved Goofy's Gas Station and sitting in the cars. Did the Car Toon Spin and roller coast there.

His absolute, all-time favorite ride, however, was Winnie the Pooh! We were both so enchanted by it, and he clapped his hands when the ride was over, it was so sweet!

We did less at DCA, for some reason, though he did love King Triton's Carousel there, and just running around the plaza by the water. This next trip we definitely plan to take him along the Redwood Trail and let him run!

If you think he'd enjoy it, schedule a character meal. It's a great way to meet lots of characters without waiting in lines at the park. The boys loved this, and ya gotta eat anyway... We did Goofy's Kitchen and the Lilo & Stitch breakfast, and I highly recommend both. :thumbsup2

Sounds like you have a very wonderful, memorable trip in store. I bet you guys can hardly wait! I've taken kids that age the last few trips and our next one in October my youngest will be 3 yrs old. It's such a fun, magical age to experience Disneyland. My kids favorite rides at that age were most of the Fantasyland rides (except Snow White, Pinnochio, and Mr. Toad--all a bit intense); Buzz, Winnie the Pooh, Small World and Pirates at Disneyland.

At Cal. Adventure they enjoyed the most Monster's Inc., Soarin', Bugs Land, Playhouse Disney & Turtle Talk with Crush. It's fun to walk around the Pier and try a couple of those rides out too. I'm sure you've read all about learning the tricks with Fast Pass, arriving early, etc. The only other advice I'd give with that age is to take an afternoon break after lunch for naps/swim/relaxation to refresh before returning late afternoon or early evening. Have a fabulous trip! I'll look forward to reading your trip report. :goodvibes

How did the trip go? I agree, 3 is a great age for Disney. I brought my 2 and 3-year old boys, and loved watching their reactions to everything. Prior to the trip, I had lots of people telling me I was wasting my money bringing them since they "wouldn't remember anything." Not true! My now 5-year old talks about it all the time, and has great memories.
