During Disapalooza, I was so fortunate to be able to be able to voluntour with Give Kids the World (many thanks to you, Dave!) That experience touched my heart so much that I have located our local chapter of Make a Wish to be able to see some of the magic closer to home. I know the wishes aren't all Disney but the kids are what made it magic that day and I would encourage anyone who needs a little magic in your lives to do a morning of voluntourism at GKTW. Before I went to DAP and I was telling family and friends at home that I was going to GKTW, I was discouraged from going because I was told it would be sad and all the children would be sick. Let me tell you - those were the most lovable, wonderful, fantastic and HAPPY kids you've ever met. Please don't overlook this awesome opportunity to make a difference in your lives as well as the lives of some really great kids. I know it made a difference for me and I want to thank Dave from the bottom of my heart. I haven't looked to see if GKTW or Make a Wish is part of the Give a Day Get a Disney Day promo, but if it is, that would only be a bonus.

Stacy - I too got to volunteer during DAP at GKTW. I could not agree more. It was so worth getting up early. I would not trade that experience for anything.

I was a part of the group as well. It was an awesome experience. I had similar reactions when I first mentioned it to friends, co-workers, and family members, Stacy. It was definitely a great time though.

Well, until Don started harassing the horses..... ;)

I know in Ann Arbor, MI the Make A Wish is part of the Disney Day promo and we plan on volunteering for an event.

Everyone’s generosity to volunteer to GKTW inspired me to do the same. In two weeks I am taking my daughter and some friends to WDW to celebrate her 16th. We had nothing planned for Saturday morning so I emailed them to see if they need us. Unfortunately (or fortunately for them) they were fully staffed that day. Next time. I also asked them about “give a day” so we could donate the tickets to them but did not get an answer. If anyone finds out if they do qualify, let us know.
