Make-A-Wish family, visiting in September

Hello, everyone! My name is Robert and I'm a soon to be Disney Dad. I'm also the father of three wonderful boys, the youngest of which is named Wesley. Wesley was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia last September. His hero is Buzz Lightyear, although Sheriff Woody sometimes gives Buzz a run for his money. When we were first hit with the diagnosis we lived in the Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH for 15 days straight. Sometime during that stay we were approached by our case worker about Make-A-Wish. Extremely long story short, Wesley chose Disney World as his wish, and to mark the one year anniversary of his diagnosis we are all heading to Florida in a few weeks. For as much research as we have done, I still feel fairly unprepared for this trip. I've never been to any Disney park and I'm overwhelmed by the responsibility of making this trip perfect for my family. I'm hoping to get some advice and help here. I would also really love to connect with other Make-A-Wish families. We will be staying at Give Kids The World, and we have access to all of the parks along with Universal Studios. Welcome Robert! I hope Wesley and his brothers have a fabulous trip!

Do not put too much pressure on yourself, try to really enjoy the magic. A lot depends on how many days you have to decide what you want to see and with 3 children you will want to factor in down time during the day. We usually hit the parks early for opening and then go back to the hotel early afternoon for naps and swim time. Look through the boards and ask any questions you may have. You will want to think about any restaurants you may want to visit such as character meals and see if there are any open reservation spots.

Just enjoy yourself - There is really no way to have a bad time at Disney - The happiest place on earth!!!! It truly has a way of making you feel magical!!!
